So0o0o0o0o, if I bought a Hennessy Venom GT (a Lotus Elise with a supercharged LS9 in it), would you still be making snide remarks about being luckily beat by a "hairdressers car" in your HSV or Ford GT!

More importantly, if someone put a big block V8 in (God forbid!) a Honda Prelude, and beat the pants off your Maloo, Walkinshaw, what have you, would you still be calling them a ricer! Is it the engine or the car that makes it what it is!

In 2002 we watched a guy pull into the trap at meremere on a kawasaki 1000cc road bike.
Straight from the showroom floor,that bloke pulled the first 1/4 in a 9.6 sec on one wheel from the line!
Second run was a clean 9 sec pass on two wheels.
How far has technology on bikes come since then!

not far

my 203 kg RF900 would do 11 second quarters with only 116 hp

but thats the factory time , i didnt abuse the bike with quarter runs . speed was my thing

Yeah! I'd be keen to see a race actually, I am aware later sports bikes have a .7-8Cd in comparison to an average .32Cd with a car, a massive disadvantage, but, the s1000rr was just pulling ahead of the Ariel Aton V8 with it's nigh on 1000hp/ton P/weight ratio.

atom is hardly a high speed wonder

light weight isnt very relevant to high speed accell like it is to low speed accelleration

aerodynamics become a major factor over the ton

look at the veyron , half the weight to power , but it would slaughter the atom at 150 to 250

It wouldn't be riced. It would be a huge waste of money with no traction.

Preludes are FF, there's no point putting that sort of power all in the front wheels. By the time you'd done the conversion it wouldn't be a Prelude any more.

Would be an interesting race, I'd say the Atom would hold the advantage 'till a bit over 200 clicks, having twice the p/w ratio of the veyron does help a heap with overcoming aerodynamics.

My mates k6 can do 120kph in first. I dont care how fast your car is it cant beat that bike to 150. I doubt it could beat my rs250 to 150.

interesting reading
i do not have much knowledge on the hsv as ive never been into them and they dont stand out at any event ive been to. i see them racing dyo in the high 13-14.2 brackets same as vtec hondas.

what rs250 is going to out launch a 4wd !
i can only compare to mates bikes z10's R1's cbr1000 and a few lower spec models

the owner had just finished telling me(last year this was) the zx10 was the fastest accelerating road bike ,well ahh i pulled from it

now i dont meen to brag or try be big headed like alot of you seem to be ,but god sake spend some time on you tube,google,tuning sites,i do some reading!

Alot of us are not being big headed,we are just older and have seen and been a few more places than you.
I have seen many tuners talk the talk,and play with dyno figures,to get the ultimate result.
Fact is Half of those saying they have a true 900hp are playing with them selves.
If you have 900hp post up your youtube vidoe of it,and a full dyno sheet!

research is the key to succes buddy ,trialed and proven components and the returns etc etc .you can search each tuner in any part of the world and what they have done,used,developed and so forth.
