got him saying quote" he was busy and made a mistake" so will be doing the LTSA and he tried to change wof paper after i brought these faults to his attention.

So it was deliveredto your adress was it!
and the dodge specialist's warrant is dated! And WHICH friday in this month! do you refer to!
the wof guy stuffed up did not check the tyres signed it off and let it on the road in a dangerous manner simple enough. Lucky i checked the car on friday night and did not use it.

Did you know your grip decreases (especially in the wet) from 3mm!In Europe 3mm is a fail. The first thing the LTSA are going to say is to bring it into a testing facility of their choice for a retest at a certain date/time.And unless there is something else he did not pick up on, you have already fixed the issue which means they won't have anything to actually fault them on.And what did you actually want from the guy or are you wanting his WOF licence removed or something!
snoopy221,
Dec 21, 4:46am
Well then.as much as dodge specialists are **out there** so are roadside tyre stealers.

Yep police replace their tyres at 3mm, I personally replace mine around that. Should be the legal minimum IMO

took it into vinz and vtnz saturday morning ( vinz checked it out and front bald as and rears 2mm) so got new tyres $850 and vinz checked it again and passed, kept the tyres as proof and all paperwork, want him to front up or lose his wof license as he should not be in business.

Well in most places when you do your job wrong and it can cause a risk that could, not will, could lead to an injury. The boss normally will have something to say.WOF inspector should get a kick up the ar$e if he admits to not checking the tires. IMO

Yeah. blackmail isn't exactly the best way to resolve your situation.
If you were really concerned about his ability to issue WOFs you would just go to the NZTA and make a complaint.
snoopy221,
Dec 21, 4:54am
Well there ya go then. And they TOLD you THE PROCESS
nokiacellphone,
Dec 21, 4:55am
just done a complaint with LTSA but still $850 out of pocket for new tyres when he passed them all with 4mm when 2 down to canvas (bald as ) and 2 down to 2mm
pup2,
Dec 21, 4:57am
! So hit up the car sales yard. The WOF inspector wouldn't replace. Talk to the people you brought the car from. What do they have to say
nokiacellphone,
Dec 21, 4:59am
legally the car dealers are NOT liable as they did not issue the WOF

That's not blackmail. It's civic duty.
pup2,
Dec 21, 5:06am
So you asked them to cover the cost of the tires due to the faulty wof check and they said no as the tires are marked as passed! I assume you wouldn't have brought the car if it failed a warrant! We all know what ass u me means though

Personaly i simply view this thread as skool holidaze. However O.P. If! your situation is genuine then simply photograph the plastic ownership bizzo ya got from LTSA and the NEW Warrant CURRENTLY(VTNZ) on ya windscreen-and approach the dodge specialist and tell im for say a measly 2 or 3 k more than what ya paid for the car AND the tyres-ya can make it all go away. Ya see when ya dodge specialist OWNS the vehicle which his dodge warrant was on .then the VTNZ process ya woulda beeen informed of when it FAILED WITH A FEW DAY OLD WARRANT on it. Stops a tad.

Wrong. The dealer must sell cars that are roadworthy. Any clown can change wheels after a WOF.

BINGO

Hmm--now forgive me for being a cynic. Wendsday it passed a WOF "friday night" the tyres were bald. I wonder if the chunks of rubber were removed from the sills before it was taken for another WOF
dasfi,
Dec 21, 5:39am
obviously youd think you would realize your tyes are on the canvas, cant be that hard! replace them first, problem solved
poppajn,
Dec 21, 6:00am
Could ithave had legal tyres at the inspection, then the dealer swapped them over!.

Ummmmm you do know that if you sit in any car you become responsibile for its condition like lights working tyre brakes working. So you should get a fine for actuarly driving athe car. (Wof is not a service or a check so you can drive blind the next 6 month)
