The funny thing is that all the spelling Nazis on here make typos - myself included - and miss them when proof reading our own work!
A bit like these oh so smart mechanics who occasionally forget to tighten the wheel nuts, or in the case of one establishment I once visited, forgot to tighten every single nut on one side of a rebuilt front suspension.
It's called human error - which is totally different from being lazy and not wanting to do the job correctly.Totally agree that there is a big question mark over those who get snotty when people really are only trying to help.
What is so wrong about wanting to be better at everything we do, be that building a fence, fixing the car or writing in a public forum!For some strange reason, people get so defensive about poor spelling or grammar, yet the same people are often keen to swat up on new technolology.
Imagine how difficult life would be if all technical manuals were written in Chinglish or text speak and also were grammatically wrong and badly written with wrong settings or clearances and no punctuation with overlong sentences that had no commas colons or apostrophes and had half the info missing anyway so people ran out of breath before they reached the end of the sentence.
