All going well I'll have a bright red Starion in my garage in the next couple months. Only 36k miles on the clock. Completely factory standard, bright red with black leather interior.

They are an INCREDIBLY well built vehicle. I've rallied mine for 7 years and have owned heaps. They are super stiffand well balanced, my gripe is they should of had double wishbone front suspension not mcpherson strut but on gravel that hasn't been a major issue.
The rust sets in where leaves sit and stay damp. My old baby was an 88 I always cleaned the fenders and skirts out on and it had 2 very small spots of rust and was otherwise immaculate. Likewise I've owned rustboxes that have been sitting in paddocks for 10 years but eh. My mkII mr2s have been rustier thus far thanks to ill treatment and they aren't even as old.

the 2+2 zeds are worth nothing. they are so ugly compared to the 2 seaters.they will never be a collectable classic.

Any tidy british car from the 1970's is going up in value, helped by retro TV shows and rarity - bought my Hillman Avenger for $250 4 years ago, now worth at least $2500.
