a mind numbing stance

people dont crash because they are paying full attention to the driving environment - that helps reduce the chance of being surprised

introducing a climate of fear where people are mentally paying excessive attention to the speedo reduces the attention span to the outside environment

surely you realise that maintaining flow is more important than maintaining the speed limit

sadly people are not generally bright, & they are eaisly swayed by propaganda

I did 140 today, it's ok though cause it was only the back wheels

You rebel you, hope you repent!

jkm, Jun 7, 11:51am
So have there been any reports of the road toll for the long week end! I havent seen anything in the news.

air.rowcj, Jun 7, 11:54am
Not always safe

is it better to watch the road or watch the speedo.

lol. I know of a motor bike rider down this way that would love center islands or poles, (Can't remember which one it was now) to have day running lamps on them. eh Gunhand :-) Don't want to say to much

There's nothing to work out. It's all in your head. About the only thing too it seems.

johnf_456, Jun 7, 4:53pm
Why not use the tolerance on km, no reason to need miles. My gps can be set to warn at 104 over

pollymay, Jun 7, 4:57pm
Why do I need to have a GPS accurately set just so I can drive somewhere!

johnf_456, Jun 7, 5:00pm
You dont, not that you obey the law anyway

pollymay, Jun 7, 5:04pm
Lol I do for the most part but often don't if things get silly. It's illegal to store more than 50 litres of fuel at a home and I know lots and lots and lots of people that break that law. We should catch these evil doers that own speedway cars and generally use it appropriately cause they are burning down houses everywhere.

The tank on my car holds more than 50 litres.

johnf_456, Jun 7, 5:15pm
Sure sure dont forget burnouts and all the rest you do has seen in other threads

pollymay, Jun 7, 5:17pm
I love burnouts, what's wrong with that!

zero road toll well done bad weather petrol at all time high.when my car was manufactured the tolerance was 10%no gps my car is 6 volts

loose.unit8, Jun 8, 8:26am
I hope you'll be writing to all the f1 and V8 supercar drivers (etc) how pathetic they are celebrating a win with a burnout

trogedon, Jun 8, 8:41am
Well said.

rob_rooster, Jun 8, 8:59am
Zero road toll so that is fantastic!
I think luck was involved and one single factor cant be singled out.
I do believe the 4kmh over ticket limit would have had some effect.
I still think there is a lot of work to be done on correcting peoples attitudes to fast driving on the streets.

crzyhrse, Jun 8, 9:27am
No. The speed limit is 100km/h. That's 62.14mph. So the GPS would be set to warn at 62mph. Which is 99.78km/h. That's not a 3km/h safety margin. So using imperial units does not achieve the 3km/h margin you claimed.

I just know you're going to claim you meant you'd set it to 60mph, but you don't need to use imperial units for that. You'd just set it to 97km/h in metric measurements. There's a 3km/h margin right there.

Thank you. Please, come again.

loose.unit8, Jun 8, 11:33am
Thank god for bad weather, high fuel prices and low wages eh

pollymay, Jun 8, 1:05pm
I think I'll stay pathetic then, sounds more fun.

I wasn't going to get caught coz I used my GPS - And I didn't see one cop on 2 stretches of road that are normally smelling of them.
