I reckon the 1st and third look a bit crap.I really hate the tyres that are obviously too small for rims etc (ok I'm the generation where tyres were usually too big for the rims !).The second one (Accord) I think looks good. Decent mags (not too wanky), not ott spoilers and crap, and normal sort of colour. You could probably do the mags quite cheaply if you keep an eye on TM, but there's always a chance of getting a bent rim or something. Getting the trans flushed / serviced would probably be a smart move as suggested. If you put too much nice stuff on it, some scumbag will nick it, so maybe factor in an alarm if you leave it parked around the place.Cost starts to add up doesn't it.

And don't let other people put you off doing stuff to it if you want to (apart from good practical advice). Most people don't start off with their 'ultimate' car, and it's a chance to learn stuff along the way.Good job for not going out and financing $20k on something that you can't really afford to keep too.Hell, I even modified my 1166cc 76 Corolla Wagon (ok, this was in the early 90's though), which was a piece of crap, but I learnt things along the way, and had lots of fun for not much spend.

Which just goes to show it looks better stock.

Hehe thanks for the advice ;)

I'm going with some nice (read not wanna be chromes) 17" wheels and some legal tints. Will defo get transmission serviced and see how much better it is.

a18a, May 11, 6:48pm
you should convert it to manual

michael.benn, May 11, 8:24pm
Crossed my mind multiple times. Too expensive.

foxdonut, May 11, 8:46pm
Also a waste of time.

zoltec45, May 11, 9:28pm
Stick to your camry and RC cars bro

michael.benn, May 12, 12:28pm
Mmhmm I guess. My next car will be a manual. Auto's are boring as hell.

phalanax, May 12, 12:37pm

michael.benn, May 12, 3:16pm
How'd you manage that ! :P

loonee-dial-111, May 12, 7:44pm
1/ Remove one of the screws holding your numberplate on so it's on an angle ($0)
2/ Get an exhaust tip when they're on special ($20!)
3/ Get a can of chrome spray paint and spray your hub caps ($10)
4/ Use some masking tape or similar on your head lights/ tail lights to make them look like evil eyes ($5)
5/ DIY tints if you're brave. ($! under $50 maybe)
6/ Look in the uni carpark for more ideas

Lowering is usually free if you know someone with a hacksaw or oxy cutter.

Or a shit load of bricks.

johnf_456, Feb 12, 8:00pm
Nah just go to a demolition yard and get some bricks
