An excellent concept -- taken by the British Unions, and used to beat the Brit motor industry into the dust of history.
They were built by disgruntled, disaffected labour on piecerates, with " NO Care, NO Responsibility" as their motto.
They were helped by successive Governments insistence on archaic tax-rates on engine-size, and a general malaise. The social atmosphere at that time was poison.
Having said all that, there WERE good Brit cars -- BLnot amongst them, though.

Allegro, it was the replacement for the Austin/Morris 1100/1300, it appeared some years before the Princess,It was styled by the same guy that did the Princess believe it or not.
