Also watch out for smart officers who know you are green and never been in trouble.They tricked my son with this one. " OFF THE RECORD" there is no such thing as off the record and POLICE use this when their case is gonna lack proof also watch out for them tricking your mates.Just give Name and Address and Phone number nothing more and call a lawyer there is a very good lawyer in Wellington for cases dealing with this he is just the best.He can pick a case to pieces and sure does when he knows its weak or a not actually factual.

They already got statement out of me, never admitted it but they have little pieces of my statement which makes it look like I admitted, when i questioned officer about it he got anal on me asking am i calling him a lier.

Do you get a conviction if you plead guilty!

Hey, I've been following this thread.Car is impounded for SLT.I've got wheels going in front of a cop, and not got in trouble.I think the key word is "sustained"

Sustained = Cause to continue or be prolonged for an extended period or without interruption.

TAKEN FROM NZ POLICE WEB SITE:You must not, without reasonable excuse, operate a motor vehicle on a road in a manner that causes the vehicle to undergo sustained loss of traction (unless authorised by law).

You car will have be impounded for this offence.28 days.

The green sticker must have been issued as you car can't be up to WOF standards.I.E. Too loud, too low, lights, tints, whatever.

Green stickers are an easy fix really, make the car legal and get a WOF.

IMO you're gonna be walking for 6 months or so. Car has current rego and wof from vtnz. So it is totally upto wof standard.

Just because it's got the sticker doesn't mean its currently legal.So say you sat on the spot, doing the most baddest burnout.Once your tyres have worn past the 1.5 mm tread depth. You car can be green stickered as your tyres are no longer up to WOF standard.

The WOF sticker means the car was up to WOF standard at time of inspection.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a police fan at all, but one has to accept that if you get caught breaking the law, you have to pay the toll.Trick is not getting caught aye.

My loss of traction charge was requested by the police to be dismissed at my defended hearing. The Judge dismissed it and said I was free to go. I am now going to try and get compensation for the impoundment costs and I also want to know why the green sticker is still valid. Surely I should be able to remove it myself or at least choose who I take my car to for its next wof as there was no case to answer.Has anyone asked this question before? I have already tried to get a wof at my local garage but when they bought it up on the computor there was a message advised that they could not issue a wof.
