Dodgy warrent

The point I was trying to make is if they can miss something so simple as this, then what else have they potentially overlooked!

trdbzr, Feb 19, 4:29pm
How do you know the horn wasn't working when the wof inspector checked it!

tonyrockyhorror, Feb 19, 4:58pm
And the point everyone else is making is that nothing may have been overlooked and the horn simply failed since the inspection.

If you're actually worried, have the car inspected locally. Then if there are major issues identified THEN follow it up with the NZTA.

In the meantime stop bleating like an ignorant biarch.

iginoi, Feb 19, 5:12pm
A WOF is only a snapshot of the car's condition AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION.
Lol 'dodgy warrant' because the horn doesn't work now.

beblowin, Feb 19, 5:20pm
what next my tyre had a nail in it and wasnt dected at inspection time but a mate pointed it out to me 3 days later, please get a life

mickeyd, Feb 19, 5:27pm
That's what you have MIL's for.hang her out the window to warn oncoming traffic or impending disasters.))

franko171, Feb 19, 5:36pm
was it working when you took it for wof check

scuba, Feb 19, 9:50pm
I'm definitely gunna complain about my wof

- the bastard always checks my horn.

incar., Feb 19, 10:41pm
so now your car is not road worthy, better keep it off the road unil the horn is working

jason18, Feb 20, 6:02am
Lol how many young fullas take there car for a wof.Get it drive it hope take springs out black the windows etc etc. Maybe they should complain.

careyw, Feb 20, 7:21am
i have a warrant sticker that is written out as 10/5/2012 but the sticker punched out is for the 12. does this happen at all!

johnf_456, Feb 20, 7:26am
Its interesting how no one can take responsibility for their own car and maintain it to standard. Its always easier to pass the blame.

careyw, Feb 20, 7:47am
would this be dodgy warrant or just mistake!

thunderbolt, Feb 20, 7:50am
This function is completed by a human.

They sometimes make mistakes.

I suspect that has happened here.

Having said that, after 10/5/12 your warrant will expire and the fact it has the 12 punched out will not be a defence if caught.

franko171, Feb 20, 5:48pm
when did you last use it

fordkiwi27, Feb 20, 6:18pm
wind up

moosie_21, Feb 20, 6:32pm
The standard way to do things these days, sad that society has been brought up this way. I'm looking on the net to try and find a sign that says "The buck stops here", from the Harry Truman era, for my work desk. So far haven't been able tot rack one down, seems they aren't that popular these days.

pebbles61, Feb 20, 6:53pm
It's never my fault! it's clearly the WOF man's fault that something stopped working a week later!

johnf_456, Feb 20, 8:08pm
Very true both 43 and 44, I also want one of those moosie_21.

cassandra13, Feb 20, 8:11pm
try turning the wheel in oppiste directions sometimes the contacts wear and it will go it certain places. and sometime yeah people get lazy on the routine stuff- but the important stuff the brain switches on to.

deflatedpumpkin, Feb 20, 8:30pm
god if it's only the horn, you've hardly anything to worry about. i bought a car that had a fresh "west coast warrant". driven it less than 500km since i've had it, it failed wof the other day, back brakes shot to sh!t, and failed on several other quite worrying issues with steering etc.i'm NOT impressed and feel vaguely sick to my stomach at the thought of what could have happened.

ml6989, Feb 20, 8:36pm
This is a very serious matter. I would go straight to the minister of transport and report it to him. Imagine barrelling down the motorway, a cat leaps out in front of you and you are not able to blast the tooter to warn the cat you are coming through. Next thing to stop working will probably be your luggage compartment lamp, though this may not be a WOF item!

bubbles244, Feb 20, 8:54pm
Any how, Its the owners responsibility to keep the vehicle in a manner safe to be on the road, not 1 day in every 6 months. As said "the Wof is only valid at the time of inspection. "

marmatt, Feb 21, 5:51am
build a briidge and get over ithorns are not a saftey item so its can be a note to fix who cares ive got away with a dodgy one before as well

pup2, Feb 21, 5:59am
I got a warrant and now it needs an oil change. Do ya think they drained my oil and put dirty oil in! Just to get my money! It's only been 500,000k since my last change. And also, my horn works now to. Grrrrrr to all auto tradies
