Not quite sure what your on about there, you made the link saying that womens refuge should have dealt with her problem instead of the police
The simple facts are the police ARE failing to do there job.
We cant expect people to obey the laws 100% of the time (hey it would be nice but realistically it aint going to happen) however we can expect the police to do their job, see where im going

Yes we can excpect them to do there job and im pretty sure most would want to do more. When you called them do you know what they were tied up with! Attempted murder, attempted suicide, road crash, domestic abuse, pissed and brawling yobs, P fueled scum, or eating donauts as Im sure most think. And again why blame the Police!Blame the guy beating her or whatever he was doing or worse blame her for staying in the relationship as I bet it sure wasnt the first time something like this happened. The Police arnt the answer there there to pick up the pieces after scum cause problems most of the time. And why dont we here of all the good they do! Because for every sob story theres many good ones as well. Go and join the force and make a difference from the inside.

So you instead suggest we have a "pecking order" in response to crimes so for instance if your vehicle is stolen, and my house is burgled then my burglary "trumps" your auto theft which then means your crime isnt investigated! interesting, where can we get a list of this pecking order so Joe public can see where the crimes commited against them stand in the police's order of importance
I realise we will never get it perfect and that ultimately the problem lies with the people commiting the acts, but does that mean we should stop trying for better policing practices

I agree with you. And yes its a sad state when they do need a order of priority. So how do we solve this problem! Its an age old question with no easy answer. Oh and I see one officer hasnt helped the Police image today either.
