Oh mint! Thats what I was hoping. Hopefully this gets rid of the flat spot. If not then I will look at carby!

Reckon I should buy all new bolts or reuse old ones!

looks like the heads have just been port matched. chuck a intake gasket on the manifold and with a black felt tip scribe any meat on the manifold that needs to be taken off to match gasket. will only take minutes with a good dye grinder. gentle blend it to the ports about 10mm down. Old bolts fine, but a set of new stainless one will only set you back about $40. I prefer stainless cap screws

Ok so I match the inlet manifold to the gasket! if I read that right! Yeah i will get new bolt. Will be better for sure. I need to torque manifold down as well! Like a head!

if your new gaskets have the cork end pieces, trim a 45 degree angle on the end where they meet the heads before installation. paste hi temp gasket goo on the block and sit them in place. let it cure for at least ten minutes then goo up the top side of them and fit manifold. Otherwise those end gasket can slid out when tightening up manifold

i don't torque them down, just do them up evenly, going around all the bolts about 3-4 times

Ok awesome Thanks for the advice

i would have run my leads a bit neater but i couldn't find any lead dividers to suit 9.5 mm leads, I was planning to pretty it up when i pulled it out to put a new sump on it, but no need now. will make the next motor a bit smarter

XE fairmont ghia. I may have just bought another one today off a mate. will find out tomorrow. Still in the paint shop, just had a new gloss black paint job, a bit more appealing than my poo brown one.

yeah i'm a bit of a fan of the XE ghia, i've had about 12 of them. XD and XE are the lightest falcons built, but i don't like the XD front, and i like the coil sprung rear end of the XE.

Well i'm not sure now. My mate (bloody good Ford mechanic) was going to build me a staunch 351, but he went to court on thursday, and was given a two year prison term, i think it was his 6 drink drive conviction, he has 8 weeks to tidy up his affairs, then off. I will see him tomorrow and see if he wants to do it still, If not, i'm thinking i haven't had a big block for a few years, But i do have a everything to build a strong 351 short block sitting under my bench, new flat tops, big cam etc.

ok start a thread and let us know how it goes in the future would love to know

forget the fact i'm mopar bias, your ports look like a typical home gasket match port job. unless your looking for maximum HP what you have will be fine. IMO someone has just ported the last 1/4 " of the port, it's probably better than a sharp transition between the different surfaces, but it's only a minor gain, are you porting the manifold to suit! that dual plane should definately fix your low end stumble that your single plane manifold was giving you. you'll pick up low end torque with that Performer & sacrifice a bit of top end, but how much top end do you want on the street!. clevo's breath deep for their cubes, what you have will get you in enough trouble. BTW guys, all your motor pics are cool with the fact the dizzy is in the right location, but they're all painted the wrong colour. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/411/20111013225717348.jpg/

Cuda, you need those heads with the spark plug in the centre, or even twin plugs. I found this nice hemi powered trike on youtube, insane, worth a look, it gets to 200 MPH very quick
that would have been great fun to build quickstitch, needs a better pillion seat, the b!tch fell off going thru the tunnel n he didn't even notice lol. my block can fit them heads you talk about but my pocket can't afford that option.
jason18,
Jun 9, 6:07pm
Haha Cuda. I not worried at all about top end. I like the power down low. It could easily get me in plenty of trouble haha! Damn nice engine too! Yeah will do what quick stitch said and port to suit the gasket.

I ended up swapping my torker for a performer so im stoked. Cost me nothing
