offrd1, Jul 20, 7:35pm
Very true .just remember you don't have to resort to insults for a good debate.it makes it look like you are losing your argument

tats63, Jul 20, 7:41pm
Strangely you yourself said at posts #31 and 39 that you do in fact pay ACC fees for your bicycle, is this sudden memory loss or early onset of alzheimers!

offrd1, Jul 20, 7:56pm
Failed to convince you. BUT not anybody else.AND YES you lost as soon as soon as you started the insults.game over .as i new you would .somebody with your incredible intelligence should know this .lol.A ps the idea of a good debate [ which you are not very good at ] is to convince me not insult me .so a very big fail .i'm not convinced in any way,you have just made cyclists sound like bludgers

tats63, Jul 20, 8:14pm
And whilst your sleeping just bare in mind that the drunks are making more sense than you are.

offrd1, Jul 20, 8:40pm
Guessing the debate is over [ easy to win that one ] down to the slanging match .you really sound like a idiot [ and that is being perlite ] .guessing by the school remarks you probably not as bright as you are telling everyone,a little slow i'd say .guessing you were also bullied .you are showing all the symptoms of .lol.the only place you can slag off is on here as you can be faceless .

offrd1, Jul 20, 8:54pm
Just thought you wanted a slanging match .you are quite fun to play with .only come on here as bored.and last day of my holidays .you are like playing with my great grandchildren but not as intelligent .lol.lol.

offrd1, Jul 20, 9:02pm
Orr sorry i thought you were a woman, thats why i haven't been swearing .lol. .never mind that would be insulting women .

offrd1, Jul 20, 9:11pm
Can't read either .lol.Great Grand kids [twins proud as ],the grand kids left school long ago

offrd1, Jul 20, 9:23pm
So now you think its smart to slag small children .that's it for me you really are the scum of the very lowest kind[ reading that guessingyou may have some very unsavoury tendencies. ]

offrd1, Jul 20, 9:35pm
I don't think this is the site to be insulting small children in the way you were .there is a name for people like you .very dangerous ground .

offrd1, Jul 20, 10:08pm
You just can't leave it can you. They are my great grandchildren [ i am aloud to be very proud of them ] not yours why are you discussing them,i don't think it is your place to insult them.a reminder you do know what people like you are called don't you.you are sounding more like one with every post

soma2, Jul 20, 10:10pm
Only fair answer to the problem.you cant ride more than 1 bike at a time and you should only pay one exhorbitant acc levy.not 3

offrd1, Jul 20, 10:13pm
Thanks for getting back on track soma2.

smac, Jul 21, 5:38am
Ahh but the issue is, if it was one per person, then it would be higher.there's no nice way of fixing it.

tats63, Jul 21, 6:22am
My original point, before the thread got hijacked by a nutter, was the inconsistency between the ACC and the LAMs system. IMO the ACC levy should be graded on the individual's track record and risk profile ( as is your insurance) as well as the power of the vehicle (not just the cc rating) car ACC
Levies should be adjusted the same way, rewarding riders/drivers for having a good track record. Probably too complicated to administer (although insurance companies can do it) but surely if the LAMs approved bikes are regarded as safe they should attract a lesser ACC charge!

kwaka5, Jul 21, 6:38am
That goes back to why charge a bike to it's cc rating instead of it being just a bike. Yes you will more than likely find larger capacity bikes involved in accidents as there are a heck of alot more of them on the roads, Hogs, goldwings, etc. But the damage that you can get on a 50cc compared to a 1000cc at 50KPH is gonna be probably worse on the 50cc as most of those scooter people tend not to be wearing the same level of protective gear. So again if we registered the rider could we reduce the fees like the insurance companies do. If we wear the right level of safety, have no accidents, and keep our bikes to a good standard do we get cheaper reg.

smac, Jul 21, 7:06am
It's an interesting point, but as commented on by the next poster - the relationship between "risk of crash" (LAMS) is not necessarily 1:1 with "cost of crash" (ACC). There's all sorts of weird things going on like what kind of bikes crash where (rural/urban), the age of the rider impacting the cost of crash (i.e. I think I remember seeing that returning older riders are actually costing more than learners).

However yes I agree the 'user pays' could be targeted better than the current arbitrary cc rating model.

richynuts, Jul 21, 7:47am
I now see your problem. it seems to be paranoria, you go to bed late and wake up early as your worried about drunks using your tax dollars while you sleep.

sifty, Jul 21, 8:33am
is this hornett egg for real.!

sheesh, please go away to parenting or opinions where the lunatics are supposed to lurk.

wrong2, Jul 21, 11:14am
or rugby players !

we subsidise non-paying sportsmen to the tune of thousands of dollars for every motorcyclist in this country

& none of them are paying anything more, unlike motorcyclists

prehaps you should get off your "pushbikes annoy me" high horse

tats63, Jul 21, 1:02pm
Never started a 'pushbikes annoy me' rant, was just using them as an example, which I have alluded to earlier. I ride both types of bike - motorised and non motorised. If you read the entire thread - apart from the large portion that was hijacked by an abusive nutter, you will see what I am getting at.

sifty, Jul 21, 5:33pm
Why do people always bring up rugby.!

Apart from being a completely different issue, I believe netball has the most injuries, due to sheer player numbers, the fact they can play till a much older age, and the inherent knee ankle dangers of a sport where you have to stop on a hard surface

tats63, Jul 21, 6:05pm
What.more meaningless drivel in the interest of having the last word!

tats63, Jul 21, 6:12pm
Must be a different crowd you ride with, I would estimate about 1 in 20 that I know of , if that. A few deregister for winter but go for the odd blast to charge battery and blow away the cobwebs.
