anyone done cam/diesel pump belts on these shit boxes without using a dial guage adaptor for the diesel pump! diesel pump belt stripped

On the older stuff you coul line up a mark or put a pin thru the pulley and aslong as it hasnt been fiddled with it should be right,

what engine old rotary pump. is easy just remove the sender on the sump to find tdc like you can on any efi diesel and then line up marks fit belt woala done 1h job max. You as mechanic should know these tricks .
you only need tools once the pump was moved on its bracket or the top of the pump was loosened to change a seal. you dont use a dial gague then you use vcds to check its timing or elm-obd2and the free programm from rosstech . if it is the engine i think off then the cambelt is on the other side and pump has its own small cambelt. PS engine distructs if the cambelt brakes on theseSo better make sure that was changed on time also
