Does anybody know of a way I can leave feedback for a person regarding classified vehicle sales.I feel people should be warned of traders that have seemingly 100% feedback but are really quite the opposite with regards to their morals.I was sold a car stating that the cambelt was done at 120,000 odometer now at 148,000 and that is was excellent mechanically, etc.I expected some trouble free motoring.Only thing needed was a rust spot fixed.Couldn't see evidence that the cambelt was done on pickup but had no reason not to believe the guy, his feedback was 100%, he seemed honest, etc, etc so once again asked and 'yes' cambelt done at 120,000 km.Have since found out the vehicle hasn't been serviced for two years plus leading to head gasket issue and the cambelt is close to snapping.I didn't know any of this till I took it in to get a quote for the rust spot. What I thought was a good buy has now turned into a nightmare and I am hoping something maybe done about it with disputes tribunal.Anyway my feelings are there should be somewhere to leave feedback regarding car sales. The unfortunate thing was the buyer was aware the whole time.I should have been more careful but there was a lot of interest and I didn't want to miss out and needed a vehicle asap so was not as careful as I should've been.I also based my decision on his feedback which led me to believe this guy was genuine.

cambelt you never trust no one. out of all cars i purchased only one had the cambelt done when i was told so.

intrade, Sep 21, 4:56pm
how mutch did you pay if you paid 1500$ then you can only expect scrap metal these days

sully12, Sep 21, 4:56pm
It's nuts eh intrade.I come from a small town where we work on trust. Is a great welcome to the big city!

sully12, Sep 21, 4:58pm
It wasn't alot at all intrade.Cheap but I am a student and was pretty much all my savings lol.I genuinely thought the vehicle was cheap because of the $600 + needed for the rust repair.I assumed after that it was good to go.$1200.

sully12, Sep 21, 5:00pm
I guess what I'm getting at is this guy looked me in the eye whilst he blatantly lied to me.I'm just pissed off that I can't place feedback and that he had almost 300 trades with 100% which I did use as a guage to trusting him.

sw20, Sep 21, 5:01pm
Hey next time you pay nothing for a car, ask if they will throw in a three year warranty for you as well, and cover the costs of WOF and rego too.

shaun16, Sep 21, 5:01pm
$1200 is basically the cheapest road legal car you can get nowadays. so to be honest you cant expect much for that. also did you get it checked over! im guessing not as they would have picked up on at least some of the faults

intrade, Sep 21, 5:02pm
yea well be warned most car sellers are like that. its why you check a car befor you buy. the cars is about worth 250$ in scrap metal and 600$ cars are now 1500$.

What car is it ! hope not a mitsubisheap

sully12, Sep 21, 5:03pm
hmmm next to nothing for some perhaps, but not for a student.$1200 needing $600 plus for rust repair.I think it is entirely reasonable to expect a reasonable standard of car for $2000 these days.It wasn't road legal at $1200.

intrade, Sep 21, 5:03pm
i think what he is on about is the actuarl LIE about the work that was suposedly already done.

scoobeey, Sep 21, 5:05pm
NO it all comes down to trust as you say and i really feel for ya . Just hope karma has a pay back aye! . if i sell something i tend to over describe ,its all about seeing people happy. Karma will bite his bum dont worry:)

shaun16, Sep 21, 5:05pm
$600 on rust repair doesnt make it a $2000 car. i could buy a $1000 car and spend $5000 on paint but that doesnt mean its worth $6000. you cant trust anyone, especially when buying a car

sully12, Sep 21, 5:06pm
lol intrade. mitsubishi RVR open road 1993.Had a brilliant write up about it also.Perhaps the guy writes fantasy fiction.I was firstly taken by his username (my fav car) then by his excellent feedback, then by the great write up.I've had my cry.Guess I have to see the funny side.I now have two vehicles sitting in the driveway that I can't use lol.

intrade, Sep 21, 5:06pm
anyone who sells a mitsubishi is a fiction teller as they are all crap ,

a.woodrow, Sep 21, 5:07pm
How can a cambelt be close to snapping! is it frayed!

sully12, Sep 21, 5:07pm
thanks scoobeey :-)and yes intrade it was the dishonesty that's really got up my nose - and I'm a laaady also :-)I find a wine is helping the cause thus far.

splinter67, Sep 21, 5:08pm
Welcome to the real world the one your mum warned you about. Remember if the car was so great why are they selling it

gunhand, Sep 21, 5:08pm
The price, type of car etc etc isnt the issue, its the fact that it seems he lied outright about the cambelt. Dont matter if ya paid 1000 or 100000 fir it. Or is it ok to lie only about cheap cars!If you can prove he lied you may have a case if you can be bthered pursuing it. Is there email proof or something.
Most here would moan to if they were lied to about anything on a car they bought.

sully12, Sep 21, 5:09pm
a.woodrow. I took it to a man on the trademe services who was just amazing to get a quote from the rust repair. This guy was just the best and picked up on a leak to the side of the engine. He opened the cambelt hatch/cover and it was full of oil and showed me the frayed cambelt. He advised not to drive the car.

intrade, Sep 21, 5:11pm
rvr is that the same as a chariot . there is one sitting outside the door with no windscreen and vandalised belongs to a guy i call the toothless-guy down the road.

sully12, Sep 21, 5:13pm
gunhand, that's what I'm getting at.And $1200 is heaps of money to a student whereas $10000 might be heaps to someone else and $1200 nothing. It is most definitely the fact that the guy has no morals.I expected to pay another $600 and have a warrantable vehicle. I didn't expect years out of it but 6 months or more till I have decent $ to spend on a car.

a.woodrow, Sep 21, 5:16pm
OK. so one of two things. Either cambelt was replaced but not seals, they have leaked causing premature failure - seller has not misrepresented. OR cambelt was never replaced, seller lied, and you would have a case at disputes tribunal I imagine

sully12, Sep 21, 5:16pm
intrade.Sure its not the same vehicle! This was with all the bells and whistles. Was listed last night.Retractable roof and apparently an excellent engine. Excellent stereo though so I can sit out in the driveway and play my CDs and pretend I'm driving.

sully12, Sep 21, 5:18pm
a.woodrow.Since my tearful phone call to him from the garage lol he said he never meant to say it had for certain been replaced only that he was told it was.Slight change in the story but I would not have purchased it had he said that at the time.I will give disputes tribunal ago, nothing to loose by trying.I just feel annoyed I can't leave feedback. This guy seems to have other cars and I would hate the same to happen to someone else.
