Without losers, there are no winners.
Great final laps and overall, not a lot of panel damage compared to many street races.

I only half watched it, so couldn't work out why the Kiwis slipped down the order from such a great start - other than Murph moving up the field.

What was the problem with the Patrizzi/Reid car!Out so early.I missed that bit!

splinter67, Oct 8, 7:14am
Not sure what happened but your right a bad day for the kiwis on the mountain sad for Johny Mac a few silly mistakes they would have been right up there. You just cant beat those 888 cars strong all day hell even a 17 sec lead at one stage. Also it was great that the saftey car didnt do too many laps and very little damage

splinter67, Oct 8, 7:19am
As a loyal Holden supporter we have taken crap from ford supporters for years time too suck it up smac stand in line and take what has been handed out to us

stockyz, Oct 8, 7:55am
I think the probs with giz were a tyre delaminating after 8 laps and the team stuffed up and brought youlden in 2 laps early for driver change he had to go out again to complete the minimum number of laps for co-driver. The 9 car did the fastest lap of the race when giz got back in. Stone brothers had a podium car this year,Bathurst had other ideasthat's why it's called the great race

elect70, Oct 8, 10:26am
At least Murphy finnished in a car re reckoned was only good for the crusher .

socram, Oct 8, 10:33am
Thanks for that.Giz was doing the fastest laps of anyone at the end.

I am just amazed that these cars can do 1,000kms flat out with nothing more than tyres, pads and discs.Compared to the average weekend club racer, that is equivalent to at least a season and half.
Le Mans 24 Hours even more impressive.I am neither a Holden nor a Ford fan, but to maintain that sprint speed after 1,000kms deserves respect.

smac, Oct 8, 10:36am
Yep, and 19 finishing. Much lower attrition rate than many long distance races.

floscey, Oct 8, 10:37am
Unlike Murph to bag the Holden , but i guess he can now Kelly Racinggoing to nissan . Has he actually got a drive!

smac, Oct 8, 10:49am
Nope.

I thought his comments were kind of odd. What is it that can be wrong with the car!! It wasn't down on power. Seems more like they just have trouble setting it up well.

kwkbrk, Oct 8, 2:37pm
Last hour was awesome. Cheering for the Ford but in retrospect the right car won, being the race was for the Peter Brock cup.
Bring on the Benz`s next year, then we`ll see !

chris_051, Oct 8, 2:52pm
What do you drive out of interest! Clapped out VT executive with hrt seat covers and radar detector in the windscreen!

pnh4, Oct 8, 9:24pm
Hows that Taxi coming along there splinter man!

xpfairmont, Oct 9, 12:00am
I reckon hey should have to buy their race cars from a dealership showroom floor on the way to the track.
- No mod's
- Some stickers.
They can wear their seatbelts for safety.

splinter67, Oct 9, 5:10am

splinter67, Oct 9, 5:13am

jerichord, Oct 9, 6:01am
socram, why dont the kiwis and the expat poms enter a morris garage next year , seems the new chinese version has all of the goodies, (Quote, mg mad) unquote.

chebry, Oct 9, 7:04am
Rubbish even the best Ford on the day couldnt get past the winning HOLDEN that was running full lean mixture and being driven conservatively to save fuel, get a life get out of yore ford

xpfairmont, Oct 9, 8:42am
What's wrong with a pushbike! cars are for poor people.

xpfairmont, Oct 9, 8:47am
Can't beat Vodafone as far as funds go. Not even the factory Holden team.
Wincup and Team Vodafone could entry in jalopy and win.

elect70, Oct 9, 8:59am
Old story its one thing to catch the car in front& another topass ."parity "the reason forboth makes being virtually samemechanicallybutstill its the teams with the most $$ thatusually win as can afford thebig bucks fordevelopmentwithin the"rules " You dont seeone car privateers winning .in anyinternational msport .

stockyz, Oct 9, 10:05am
888 are THE team to beat.Dosnt matter if they were in a ford or holden, the combination of 888 and whincup/lowndes are unstoppable

bill-robinson, Oct 9, 10:38am
How true, the quote about parity that is. On sunday a driver could not pass "parity in action" so he got on his radio and had a bad sportsmanship flag shown to the driver in front. This is not motor racing, it is a joke. Take parity and stick insert it wherethe sun don't shine.
