Apparently there will be new motors for Holden and Ford for possible the 2014 season with ford running their 5.0 litre DOHC Coyote engine, and Holden something derived from the Cadillac stable. Testing is already being done for parity

Haha, that's a picture Auto Fiction (auto action) came up with when they were speculating 'bout the 4th manufacturer. Was a damn lucky guess on their part.
Remeber this post when the Erebus/SBR car(s) break cover.

A bit more perspective from Norbert Haug regarding the Erebus deal.
Quote: This is not a works involvement - nothing like that. Its an initiative of Erebus. They are paying customers and that is the whole back ground . Quote: They approached us and we discussed it, and then we said, well there is no cost for us and we have a Customer Support program.
Quote: Again its a customer related program and AMG will support a paying customer. Its a customer activity and that is all there is to say about it.
Quote: DTM is a works program and for the V8's this is customer related, so basically nothing has changed in that philosophy (DTM is the only Touring Car series in which Mercedes is officially involved.)
Quote: MBA ruled out any financial support or marketing activation.
Quote: Is it a good series! I'm not qualified to judge that. I even did not see races on television or whatever"

Hmmm, OK, we`ll have to wait and see. But theres plenty of MB insignia on the Erebus SLS for what its worth. But to be fair I`ve no idea what that arrangement is in that class. I still struggle to see that MB would be so embarrassed that they`d not allow their insignia on the car.

Yep, the SLS has 'some' factory backing tho', hence the MB stuff on it.
I think the V8 program was different because they didn't see Betty making a go of it. I predict come 2014 the V8 program cars WILL have some MB on it when MB OZ see how sucsessful it is in 2013.

Wow you live in an interesting world Cadillac have used Chevrolet engines for quite some time they downgraded back in the 90s the rest of GM also uses the cheapest V8 in stock including Holden Ford will have to run what everybody else uses including Dunger Datsun and Benz
The last hour was pretty pathetic if you ask me it was obvious that whincup was going to win as soon as he hit the front.Supercars is such a load of bollox its hard to watch.
There was a lot of talk about the supertourers not making it throughthe enduro rounds in NZ so they made it 2 races are we going to see 2 bathursts next year

supertourers do not use a transaxle. If they did they would be a better balanced car.

I believe they are looking into several options for the Holden, either the Cadillac Northstar dohc v8, which was exclusive Cadillac,or change parity regs to allow the a version of the LS7

Northstar gawd I hope not that would make a Ford fan of me, those were rubbish and the reason Cadillac uses Chevrolet engines today do try to keep abreast of the year

I thought the Ford and Holden bodies were japanese made/designed. will we see these new cars at the start of the season!

This I know bill but there was lots of talk about the supertourers not being able to do an enduro without breaking down will this be the same with the car of the future

just depends on the driver, and If he knows how to change gear with a dog box or not.
