No, not upset at all. I actually think it's comical how you are under the dellusion of having a SL/R.

Please let us know when you take it to a show or on a Holden run as i'd love to see the expression on your face when after you tell someone who REALLY knows their Torries it's a SL/R & they tell you what the majority here have told you.

If you have a GT Falcon but with all GT bits removed, is it still a GT. If you have a Baldwin Motion or Yenko Camaro but all BM or Yenko bits are removed is it still a BM or Yenko Camaro!

Stop fooling yourself mate, it's not a SL/R in the true meaning of the word so why not stop refering to it as such.

An interesting discussion in many ways.
To summarise it would appear that when the "shell" left the factory it had was a SL/R with 253 and M20 transmission.
Many years later the shell remains however a 308 has been inserted to replace the 253, an M21 transmission has replaced the M20 and a Ford diff has been thrown in the bum for some reason.
Added to that there are many other things e.g. deloomed engine bay, colour change (it is probably fair to assume a good many other modifications or improvements too) etc that all detract from whatever value it might have had as an unmolested example of an SL/R.
Would I buy it at the right price! Hell yes!
Is its value anything like that of an unmolested SL/R! Hell no!

I'd genuinely be interested in knowing what kind of money you are thinking of lumpster!

Check out www.carpoint.com.au and check out how many big money SL/Rs are modified in one way or another and it loos like a 9 inch is the only way to handle all the power. oh wait does that mean they are not SL/Rs any more!

Hi cook90 I love an original car the same as the next guy. If I could change this one back I would.so now ile make into a nice street car. The engine is running around the 400bhp hence the 9inch.I'm wanting to insure it that's why I need a round about figure. I was thinking around 15-20k! I know in oz they are fetching good money.

With 400bhp you will be needing another type of gearbox soon enough.Even with all the mods and non original gear you should get what you are asking IMHO.Just those tags alone are worth good money in Oz.

Going by the prices asked for some "classics"oh I'd say around $1,000,000.
Would help if it had no wof or reg, rust, non runner (was running mint last time started), 99% complete (just missing engine, box, interior, wheels), too many projects, real sorry to see it go .etc, etc.

the gear box is a recond m21 close ratio with high strength gears.the engine has too much to list but heres a insight.heads ported & polished 52 cc chambers,tripple isky valve springs,L34 valves roller rockers,camshaft 300 duration,iski anti pump lifters,block,polished valleys,crank steel shot peened,A9L rods modified shot peened & balanced,pistons dished to give 10:0:1 compression,chromemoly push rods holly 650 double pumperetc,etc,etc. ps not too sure how to put picture on sorry.
