I received this question on a listing and am non-plussed as to how to answer it - honestly.

I think it says
"I am a product of NCEA. People who take the time to correctly spell or even make communication legible are either old farts or simply homosexual in nature. Who cares if you can spell or not anyway, as long as everyone knows what you mean. I want a mid 90's generic Japanese sedan I can paint violent green, add a huge exhaust and pod filter to, remove all badges yet install a plate alluding to the brand to, and do some serious drifting and thus render young ladies moist with lust and overlook my spots and small tadger.

Hi. Why are you selling it! Have you tried using it! Thanks. Where is the pick-up from!

Thanks for the translation. It's not exactly how it reads though is it!
Txt speak is for phones to save space and not for here.Incidentally, I don't use a cell phone other than as a means to let my wife know when I am leaving a race meeting so some of the finer points are lost on me.

GREAT ANSWER SOCRAM.If you could please write your question in English, I might just be able to answer it. I don't speak gobbledegook yet.
socram,
Nov 3, 7:46am
Thanks.Checked his earlier question!
bellky,
Nov 3, 7:46am
no. that's exactly how it reads.
it's not someone else's problem if you are not up with the play.
i can understand the quoted text very easily; if you are offended (or whatever your problem is) you can answer in any fashion you choose.

Yip hes a knob , says 1/2 inch in the listing then he asks if its 1/2 inch.

Not being up with the play as you put it is not the issue. Its about communicating in English. He may well be a very nice guy, but this messageboard is not constructed in text speak, it is constructed in the language we were taught at school. If the message board, newspapers, magazines and books were in text speak, then yes, I'd have to conform, but they are not so I don't see the need to even try.If it was written in Portuguese, it would still need to be written correctly!English is a wonderful language and deserves a degree of respect, as does any traditional language.

Tolerance for drongoism only encourages it. Why would anybody be supportive of a sector of society that wants to destroy our language! Maori gets a better deal than English nowadays.

Thanks rob_man. Exactly my point.

and this.
bellky,
Nov 3, 8:41am
"I'd have to conform" you don't have to conform. you can answer anyway you want.

All I can say Bellky is that things will be a little less interesting in your chosen future with nobody knowing how to write books or report news in a coherent fashion. I'm picturing a whole lot of people scratching their heads over the morning paper.
bellky,
Nov 3, 8:43am
"our language" who is 'our'! do you mean other people who are up themselves!
bellky,
Nov 3, 8:44am
i won't be scratching my head - it'll be old hat to me.

That aint bad ive seen worse, im partly dsylexic but I do try. There maybe a genuine reason we dont know.

Up themselves! For wanting things done well!I don't think so.If the workshop manual says torque to 43lb/ft, then I wouldn't expect my mechanic to bastardise it and use either 110 or 21 because he used his own intrepretation on a standard. We have a standard and that standard is "our" standard, meaning English speakers and that I presume includes you.
You don't talk text speak in real life - or do you!The written word is just that and you write as you would speak and that is not in misspelt abbreviations with missing vowels and no punctuation pauses.Slagging off those who expect reasonable standards is your choice and I am not offended by it or by you, but I don't have to agree with you.
If a self confessed dyslexic can try hard (and there are several on here who do genuinely suffer), then those of us who are not afflicted by such a tough disability should try harder and not be lazy about it.We should count oursleves lucky.I certainly do as I have a passion for books and reading.A pleasure that may well be denied dyslexics.

bellky, I don't suppose by any chance you know the person who had the numberplate "EQUIPE"!I know the car went to your neck of the woods years ago and I am trying to track that car down - if it still exists.
rob_man,
