Just drained radiator, do I put the full bottle of anti freeze in or is there a ratio of anti freeze to water! and yes I am a woman!

depends on the car. Dont drive it unless you done it correct . normally you flush the system . antifreeze comes as concentrated or premix. and some new cars need special expensive long last like my bora diesel vw.

Mitsy Galant 2001 The anti Freeze is RS200 based on ethylene Glycol! does that help, jeez I have already poured it into the radiator.

Can anyone offer some advice!

What does the bottle say! On the back it will have a "mix to X ratio"

Longlife concentrate!, jeez Im not going to blow my motor up am I! I just filled the whole radiator up and then put hose in the very top, also poured some in the overflow tank as well.omg what have I done!

Doesnt say anything about mix to x ratio I had a good read.

some antifrezze you cant mix you better check to see if it says on the bottle somewhere. Compatible with all other antifrezzes.

I didnt mix the old with the new,I drained the radiator completelyfirst and filled it with the new blue antifreeze concentrate now Im scared it might blow my motor up.

na it wont blow up. You drained the radiator but thats only 40% of the whole system. if its competabile with other antifreeze then it be okYou got to check if its got a overflow bowl from radiator . and post the full brand of the antifreeze i only know green stuff and red longlive my self lol.

There would still be old coolant in the engine block, draining out the bottom doesn't get rid of all of it, usually only about half of the total volume.
From memory blue/green are both Inorganic times, whilst Orange/Red/Pink etc are all the HOAT types. You can't mix Inorganic and HOAT. Green and blue should be fine.

This is what its called on the Label:RS200 based on ethylene Glycol

yea it was concentrated so it refreshed the remaining stuff up again , not the correct way but will work. Just make sure cap has not a brittle rubber and is closed correct and overflow bottle also is filled to max if it has overflow conection then recheck overflow after a drive dont ever open radiator when hot in case you dont know that already.

etylene glycol is the green stuff as unbeatabull said being a mitsi it probably had non expensive other antifreeze in there before.

What sort of things will go wrong if its too concentrate! I am worried now.dont think I will try any more smart ideas!
intrade,
Nov 13, 7:21pm
well it would have to be only concentrated the whole system to cause a problem. and you only done 40% at best as the engine and heater in the car holds loads more coolant . So it be fineand another problem you dont have because you only drained the radiatoris it wont have air in the system

Thanks for your input intrade, I really am sweating about my stupidity!
