BTW, I suggest you request your court date now. If you are going to write in (which I advise against, its a waste of time) you need to do it now.

The Police have set up the "write in" process to go to a P.O Box where you cannot send registered mail. What that means is that towards the end of the "write in" period they just throw the letters in the bin and eventually send you a response saying your letter did not arrive in time.

Furthermore, once that happens there is nothing you can do, they have set it up so you cannot request a court date or anything at that point, you are just forced to pay.

The system stinks, its corrupt to the core and people are just too stupid to stand up and say enough is enough.

Approaching us, flicked his lights on as he passed and turned around to pull us over. Lights went straight on as approaching so no tracking from behind. - He didn't have a chance, I said to my partner "i think he is pulling you over" and we pulled over and waited.

An aquaintance disputed a ticket and he sought what he called "full disclosure" from the police. sirdoug called it "a discovery". Whatever it's called I undestand it is very detailed and the police hate the time wasted but have to give it to you.
Although he went to court fully armed he was told by the duty solicitor not to say anything but just to ask the police to "point me to the evidence". To which the judge (or whatever they are) sugested the two sides should get together and sort this out without taking up more court time. If required another court date was set. I havn't heard the outcome yet.
They must prove you are guilty in court, not you prove inocense which is how you are treated when a ticket is issued.

now tell us what really happened

Yeah gotta say I have my doubts. Most cops I've dealt with have been straight up. The odd one, including my most recent encounter, have been complete &^%$''ers, but something about this tale smells funny.

You are quite right. I was just being lazy. As I said, I wasn't bitching about the ticket, just the cops attitude and lying to me.

I'm guessing the cop saw your car hit the picks as soon as you identified his car was indeed a police car. Hence the reason he had to pull you over and fine you.
