" But I will put money onhim kicking murphs buttin ST as he did in V8SCeven with a ford badge on"---- your words . Murphy is awilyold campaigner& it will be good for the fans if it becomes abattle between the 2

There wont be a battle shane wont keep up with murph
The way shane drives he would be better off in a contact class like superstocks

austingtir, Feb 18, 3:08pm
Its just that in v8 supercars to be at the front you have to have the big $ and the best team and again that costs even more $$.Greg hasnt been able to put together a decent team in a few years now with the well publicised issues he's had securing drives.Particuarly in couple of season old cars.

I think greg has proved from this he's not washed up atleast. There were some bloody good drivers in that field.

And this proves to me what a load of rubbish supercars actually is.Its no different from when gibson motorsport was cleaning up with the gtr's biggest budgets win races.

Really, more than you would think sunshine.

newtec1, Feb 18, 3:54pm
He certainly is passionate and doesn't tolerate fools on the track, and that's how it should be.As for losing his rag on the track, never. As i have said he is the ultimate professional behind the wheel, but is not afraid to voice his opinion off it when required.Go Murph.

Not necessarily a whinger, just says what he is paid to say. newtec1, Feb 18, 4:00pm
And what is he paid to say.!

newtec1, Feb 18, 4:06pm
I don't see how he could lose any credibility supporting safer cars on our roads.Whether we agree with the sentiments or not is a mute point, but he had safety first as his main priority.I am sure if he didn't agree he wouldn't have backed the campaign,i don't think he is that type of guy.

newtec1, Feb 18, 4:12pm
What do you call a hurry up.Following 20 mts behind at the closest point and trying to bridge the gap but failing is nowhere near a hurry up.When he realised he could make no impression he settled for 2nd.At no time was he in a position to attemp to pass.

newtec1, Feb 18, 4:13pm
Put him in a decent car and then tell us how bad he is.

jarrod261, Feb 18, 5:26pm
Hope Murphy continues to race at Bathurst.

chevcamaro, Feb 18, 6:00pm
yes i've always enjoyed murphs racing, love his bathurst antics and long may he entertain us
damn fine racing murph , keep it up

newtec1, Feb 18, 6:53pm
You will see him at Puke first. And yes how could you leave him out of Bathhurst. They will be climbing over themselves to sign him for that.

chook90, Feb 18, 7:37pm
Using that logic the majority of the V8SC field should obviously pack up and retire to a lesser racing class.
888 and FPR dominated to such an extent in 2012 that they were the only teams with a realistic chance of winning. Both teams are clearly at the top of their game but let's be real, with little point in developing the 2012 cars due to their total replacement for 2013 it really did come down to which teams could cut the bigger cheques.

It's easy to sit at home being an armchair critic but consider this - Murphy was the first driver snapped up for the endurance drives and that was without having so much as turned a wheel in COTF. Either HRT are keen to deliver lacklustre results or they recognise that he is unquestionably the best peddler available to them.

As I said earlier, let the talking happen on the track and bank on him not only driving at Puke and the endurance rounds but also making a return to full time duties in replacement for Ingall in 2014.

mokaubach, Feb 18, 7:41pm
He would be better off if he zipped his gob a bit more and wasnt such a smart arse full of excuses. His one eyed outlook on brands has cost him drives too, when in a hole, stop digging.

chook90, Feb 18, 7:47pm
I have seen his "one brand" mentality are one of the issues preventing him securing a seat. It's worth noting though that his ties to Holden probably extend a long way beyond the race track. i.e. the income he gets from promotion, pr etc most likely outweighs anything he could hope to earn actually racing.

What the MTA PAID him to say He's been the paid mouthpiece of the MTA for years and it was predictable thathe would front their campaign against changing the WoF rules.
