Exactly.especially in Amons case,although he never won a GP he was considered the best driver to have never won in F1. Ferrari don't hire anyone without extreme talent to drive their F1 cars.Bad luck seemed to follow him around the circuit.Similar with Stirling Moss.And in Murphs case Loyalty and politics may have more impact than anything else.

Quite a few drivers and commentators have been saying for a long time that Murphy is one of the best drivers at Bathurst, Specially over the top of the mountain. I'm not even sure that the championship is as important as winning Bathurst, That race is the pinnacle of the season.

The championship can be won without even scoring a win ,but winning Bathhurst is worth more qudos& Murphy has stood on the podium 4 times.
