The UTTER ILLITERACY of some people makes my brain hurt some days.

So I poured some deisal in my glass and now everything seems better.

Yes and I'm happy for them that someone was able to calculate how much deisal their aging deisal ute will surely use on a 700km trip, regardless of whether it is uphill or down dale, down to the nearest 50c.

This thread is about my issues not theirs.

Someone had a Trimoh Herlad for sale on here maybe 10 years ago. The badges on the rear of the car said TRIUMPH HERALD plain as day, but I guess you have to walk a mile in somebody else's shoes occasionally. I'd almost recovered my sanity and composure after that scarring experience, and now this?

I agree illiteracy seems rife, but I also think a lot of the problem is just laziness. typing too quickly and pressing the wrong keys, and/or relying on auto correct and not bothering to proof read before hitting post.

And mrfxit, don't get me started on bloody text lingo!

Its the teachers fault they dont teach the queens english any more . So long as you can be understood they don't care how you spell .

Of course they are not.

But it's not about them measuring up to me.

It's about them measuring up to a fairly basic standard that most of society expects.

We COULD all communicate with grunts and by throwing rocks at each others' heads when emphasis is required. But it is hard to imagine people building gothic cathedrals and double overhead cam engines, or putting a man on the moon with that system of communication.

Some people go to town in their bare feet and get declined entry to bars. That's not because I dress better than them, it's because they're not making the grade, and they don't even appear to be trying.

Everyone in this country gets at least a primary school education.That's really all you need, to be able to read and write good.
