V8 supercars

see the schematic Murphy was showing of next generatrion SC , now full double wishbone suspension all round like single seater , carbon fibre ? & the radiators inboard either side of the transaxle , only thing missing was pushrod spring /dampers This would take up rear "seat "space . Must be ducted from underneath or big air scoops in side of "rear doors " Why dont they give up this BS pretense of them being "touring cars " even Nascar dont pretend yet they have more in common with touring cars . Still retain conventional manual gearbox no pansy DSG & even carbs , not sure but dont think they even have power steering .

They have P/S made by sweet from memory.

a motec injection system is cheaper than the (cough) "stock" intake system and carbs that nascar uses. and the "solid" rear axle that current SC uses isnt exactly a stamped 9"

The radiators are not big enough for the engine, they are for the transaxle. You do not want too much air under there anyway , you want to pull the car down.

V8 Supercars is not exciting like the old Group C and even Group A cars were.

With continually adjustable brake bias, roll, movable fuel loads, etc, etc, the current generation is not more than glorified go-carts with bodyshells.
No "absolute" skill level is required anymore, as drivers no longer have to drive the cars in different states of ride, as the adjustability has made the ride almost linear at any and all times.

Sad, really.

NASCAR going to injection in near future. Carbs on the way out.

^^ & so is pro stock drag racing going EFI & rev limiters to 10 000 RPM many teams are hot against it saying it kills the reason for pro stock , best tuned car wins NHRA reckon carbs discourage new entrants . Which means too diffucult to learn the skill to tune them , much easier to just hook up a laptop to tune EFI . to conditions . Dumbing it down in a way . Plenty of EFI in the sportsman classes . # 5 those rads look bloody big for trans coolers got big fans on them look too big for trans coolers .

NASCAR switched to injection last season.

There are many reasons why you would NOT put engine radiators there. Not great airflow, too far from engine, hot water running inside the cabin, heat transfer to the gearbox/diff etc etc
