Tie rod ends for VW Passat 2 for $67.86 or 1 for $75+gst . What does 1 buy ?

depends if you can replace it easy =free labour you can go for cheap since it has no electronics in them. worst will be having to buy geniuen in 24 month and redo the wheel alignement again

Probably both come from the same factory anyway

Personal opinion only, but I would only use Taiwanese parts for body parts or things like brake pads or clutch plates, but never for mechanical parts like steering joints or bearings. I replaced a rear corner bumper on my truck for a quarter of the price of the Toyota part, which was identical.

My time is cheap and have replaced similar on other cars i have had over the years . There seems to be quite selection of the same part and some have been upgraded for better strength . The company i called today that did the diagnosis for the previous owner couldn't understand what they had written . The service guy asked who did the diagnosis and i said it was them . He said it would take 2hrs but for what i am not sure . He put me through to parts who couldn't under stand the invoice so were gunna call me back . They had hours to call back or answer my email from early this morning . Not much to lose if i fit the cheap Tre then intrade .

Put four taiwanese tie rods on terrano from supercheap, came with
two year warranty - thought if were so crap supercheap not going
to sell many in future, gave their buyer benefit of doubt and have been
good. Got to be of resonable standard with the load put on them or would not even last one week - keep them greased.

You wanta try and fit them body parts and still have that opinion. And you should have weighed those bumpers - usually don't need scales, just hold them out in each hand.

they still dont fit today do they? i have storys about that also from my uncles crash repair business we fitted tons and tons of asian penals often made up own as asian stuff was so far out of whack.

Found a pair of German Meyle for $71 so will go with them . Such a big variation in prices and more different brands that i would have thought . The work shop that diagnosed the steering rack problem still haven't got back to me . I made a call to the locals that i sold my Audi to more than 10 years ago to see if they still had the nice 18inch Alloys i had fitted . They removed them and refitted the original factory wheels as they live down a rough road . They had given to there son years ago who sold them . I mentioned the company that looked at the Passat and was told they had taken the Audi there once where they stuffed things up . They had to take it to another Euro specialist to get it sorted . May be they are like the moron's you speak of intrade .
