Well finally managed to get a light tip truck but needs 2 tyres for a COF which is due end of next week. While I am over i Christchurch collecting it I'd like to try and get a couple of tyres (cheaper than on the Coast). Can anybody recommend where I could try for tyres (don't mind second hand)

Bridgestone on Halswell Junction road,seem to be fairly reasonable.

I found that "Independent Tyre Specialists" was the cheapest retailer by far. They have two branches in Christchurch and they fitted a set of "GT Radial Savero A/T" tyres to my car for almost $200 cheaper than for the same tyres in either Motueka or Nelson. Very good tyres, a lot cheaper and with better performance than the equivalent big name brands of Firestone, Bridgestone and Dunlop.
