The problem with your analogy is that parachuting, diving, etc are not illegal and the risk to only oneself. Driving or riding “very fast†on highways, roads and motorways that the rest of the population regularly use and sometimes with kids in their cars is highly illegal. Worst of all, this behaviour by brainless morons is arrogant, selfish, egotistical and idiotic. Find a race track and do it there. End of.

Tragic, is certainly what it is for other innocent road users and their families who happen to be in the wrong place when you are having your "Big Thrill"

A girl I used to know was a coroner. Stuff she told me about motorcyclists who have died from their injuries is always in the back of my mind when I'm riding. Like the bloke in full leathers who was run over by a truck. No shovel required - the leathers held the mushed body together like a wet sack.

yea i am amazed by this idiot riders in auckland i was thinking no wonder the insurance is so hight for motorbikes. You have to think everyone is a idiot and any mistake they make you draw the short strraw on a motorbike. You do have the power if you think quick and open the throttle to make it out of a potential accident where you be dead if you stick to the speed limmit should this cenario eventuate . i sure as hell would do anything even raising the front to drive over a car with a bike . you need to be ulta allert at all times if you dont have a death wish.

You dont have to manipulate the facts to know these guys are just dicks. No need for an agenda, no need to exaggerate, just dicks.

Come on people, we have a fair dinkum rootin tootin Jean Claude Van Bourne Rossi Damme, or could be a Chuck Schumacher Freeth Norris among us, we don't need criticism, we need AWE just AWE.
I love my bikes. Always will. But there is no doubt, they're not to be taken too lightly. I have long list of biker friends that have died or been maimed. One on a 74 Norton Commando speeding. A car misjudged the speed of his bike and pulled out in front of him. The bike ended up inside the car with the car in flames. We stood there and watched it burn. There was noting we could do.
Another crashed and had head injuries, and killed his girlfriend. He was never the same. Years later I was following him one night, I came around the corner and he was lying their dead. His pillion passenger (another victim) ended up in a wheel chair for life with a broken back. Other friends that have lost legs or been crippled for life in one way or another. After having a couple of good crashes myself I learnt my lesson. Learned to slow down. Some of us are lucky and learn easily. Some learn the hard way. Some get lucky and never have to learn.

Sadly there are too many road users with stories and reflections similar to yours. We too have lost a family member to a careless road user driving ridiculously dangerously. I would not want to be living with the consequences of another persons death on my hands due to dangerous driving. Then you have the attitudes of brainless morons who are happy to put other human beings lives at risk eveytime they use NZs roads purely for the personal thrill of it. Ironically they would be the first people to cry foul if their family members are on the receiving end. I have no time for unintelligent brainless retards like Jethro, I am only thankful that we live at opposite ends of the country and I send my profound sympathies to the people of Dunedin.

Is that the best you can do? I am very sorry the education system has failed you so spectacularly. But look on the bright side, I am sure your local primary school will be having night school classes for morons.
