Then what are you on about, calling the prototype's fake? - They have been running around being tested for a long time.

Surely you jest. To give a Tesla 75KWhr battery even a half charge overnight would require 45KWhrs of battery storage. (thats 30ish K right there) plus about 90 x 300 watt PV's (20K) plus controllers etc etc.

I live off grid. Have done for 15 years. Its not all beer and skittles, esp in the middle of a calm grey day in the middle of winter. Think 10% of stated output. Right there.

and tesla are infamous for their BS claims.

if you load it up with enough batteries it will do whatever range you want.
the catch is what your weight limits is and how much load you need to carry.
the same applies for utes and cars.
with cars it works ok because they don't carry much load. driving one person to work uses a whole lot less energy than towing a caravan.

Is a shame what happened to the Nikola truck, bit of trouble brewing there at the moment from what I read somewhere.
I liked the original idea of the micro turbine range extender better than the hydrogen fuel cell anyway.
Lots of spare jet fuel around at the moment I'm sure, from what I understand the micro turbine generator could run on various fuels and burn clean because of complete combustion in the turbine.
Would have made a better transition to EV type of truck where there are no hydrogen fuel networks, in my opinion.
