450 nm is nothing my hilti supposedly has 900 or so. the torque figures are not made with fixed global testing every tool maker can make up there own claims like 3500 watt pmpo music that is 25 watt rms

toyboy3, Feb 24, 9:17pm
Still have to buy the battery!

This guy does a fair comparison test. Milwaukee looks pretty good.

blogzy, Feb 25, 12:10am
The ridged also looked good at a lower price.
Must be somewhere these can be purchased in US ? Keep in mind, the tools in the test are only 3/8" drive, not 1/2".

intrade, Feb 25, 1:08am
my one is 3/4 inch hilti.
best is hilti milwaukee dewalt then maybe the aeg bfmat has.
also depends on priority. my priority is big punch to undo and long battery live and for best battery managment its hilti.
dewalt 56 flex volt die because the 2 packs can go out of balancing charge.
batterys are the expensive part of all them tools.
was like 450 doller or so for my 8 amp 22 volt hilti battery

Has anybody tried the aeg brand? Or have a batt powered impact gun? Has 2100nm loosening and 1500nm of tightening torque. Same specs as the Milwaukee. But its only $469 for the skin. I believe Milwaukee aeg ryobi are all subsidiaries of the same parent company. Just wondering peoples thoughts before I outlay $1200 on A bit driver a drill an angle grinder and impact wrench of brand I have not used.

budgel, Sep 9, 4:46am
Milwaukee seems to have better brand coverage in NZ and in my opinion is definitely more mainstream. I have AEG tools from years ago and they are good quality and still working well, but dont know about the newer stuff. The batteries are the biggest consideration in tools these days. Check out replacement prices. Skin prices can be a little misleading as a part of the overall price.

tnt423, Sep 9, 4:55am
I've never heard anything bad about them, I'd just have a look at the full range they offer as down the track you might want to get another tool skin.

intrade, Sep 9, 4:55am
i look at ones since years the problem is the problem.
i have converted a old oxygen aluminium bottle to air because air is better then . The issue is do you really need these tools. i went to mitre10 today to get some padlocks and seen stanley fatmax and angle grinder 196 or 169$ one of these prices but meh i have airtools and i got my converted bottle i can take should see how long i can operate the rattle gun on it hmmm .

stevo2, Sep 9, 5:14am
One or two of the young guys at work have them since they're cheap (carpentry tools, not rattle guns though)
They are happy enough for a while, then things go wrong and they have to be returned. You can only get one replacement, ie if it dies a second time, you're outta luck. They all seem to turn to Makita or Dewalt for their next set.

cabrio1, Sep 9, 5:19am
I've been using my makita impact driver with a 3/8 socket drive bit.
Undoes everything up to M8 easy, very compact and light.
Will overtighten no problem.
Also have a 1/4 drive bit.
If I need M10 or upward I use a supplied De Walt 1/2 drive.
Heavy as . would have bought the Makita.
Just my opinion.

Edited to say it's not a "rattle gun "

air bottle just tested probably enough to take 1 wheel off drops 2 bar every secound . should make a truck compressor to pump it to 20 bar lol i am sure id take harmonic balancers off with 20 bar . my screw compressor delivers massive amounts of air but only to 9 bar . the piston one can go to 13.5 as i screwd it up to blow off about there.

intrade, Sep 9, 6:07am
i am not so sure about the specs poster 1 unless that thing is a huge mother . the brand AEG is a ex german name and is on level with Einhell well if you did not hear of einhell then that is because its sold as ozito down here.
found it the warranty seems ok and its 4.5kg one would need to read the finprints on warranty as somone made a video of the 20 volt tools they are 18 volt ones just marketing W. k as thats max the battery charge goes to.

bigfatmat1, Sep 9, 6:11am
I'm just sick of dragging a air line round.and extension cords for angle grinder. Hoping these will speed things up a little I have a ryobi bit deiver that I use sockets on and a ryobi drill they have lasted 6 years but now a bit worse for wear.

intrade, Sep 9, 6:15am
i use my 12 volt makita with nikel cadmium battery i charge one while i use the other for bit driver , adapter from wish up to 1/2 inch Done the whole roof screws with that i hate fkn impact on screws . i got 3 skins and a torch. Only cordless drill i own.

intrade, Sep 9, 6:19am
i see the aeg skin 469 at bunnings is that the one you talk. i dont sortof like that skin that crap usually falls off with oil returns to mush.

If you are only using these tools once and a while and not removing 10 truck wheels a day go have a look at Topmaq and their Nordic range of tools. Ive got some of them and they are bloody good quality for the price. 5 year warranty on brushless ones. They are made to 80% of Makita but I reckon they are every bit as good. They are surprising a few people and getting good reviews.

just watched the hilty advert video. almost the same guy who promotes the 300$ flashlight lol but something important he mentioned. if you watch what a.v.e states. the guy in advert states each cell is sepeartly monitored= what tesla battery packs do its why a tesla is superior over the tras-heap leaf.
its also what nuked my lithium ion jumper pack. they connected 2 wires to 3 battery pouches in my jumpstarter so the cell go out of balance and then it degrades or goes nuclear or just stops working like the middle cell puffed up and that was the end of the 3 cells of the jumpstarter trasheap. Jehu garcia and jack ricard= r.i.p both have videos about battery balance jehu done diy boards for 18650 cells to ballance them before use and try to keep them balanced as the whole pack is only as good as the weakest cell of the pack.

I’ve owned an AEG drill the higher spec. Got a couple years out of it never let me down. I run 2 Milwaukee impact guns and I’ve been quite impressed. Currently using them on some telco tower refurbishments. One has a 1inch socket on it for unbolting and the other a 27mm for bolting up - In the past I’ve swung on those bolts with 1m power bars trying to crack the rusted ones - The Milwaukee easy as. battery life we can get a day out of 2 batteries each easy which is about 250 bolts . The only regrets is being that we never change the sockets I should have got the locking pin type drive not the friction ring. It’s a pain if you pull the socket off and drop it 100 feet in the air.

My dads aeg m12 charger stopped charging, I only had to remove a small tang to allow it to fit my Milwaukee charger, so they are definitely similar.

I’m more than impressed with my m12 Milwaukee impact gun and m12 3/8 ratchet. I worked in a big workshop with a split of air, Milwaukee m18 and snap on battery impact.
Snap on battery impacts are weak and expensive.
Milwaukee. 100% of the guys that had them loved them & had no issues.
One guy had high and mid torque Milwaukee as a set & said he used the mid torque 90% of the time because it is lighter.
The only thing I like about air guns is undoing subframes or something that I need to hold after the last bolt is out i can lower my air gun by the hose.
I’d go Milwaukee high + mid torque when it’s on special, it’s probably your last impact gun of your career just spend the coin. or be the guinea pig and let everyone know how they are.
Maybe a belt clip or something to save you bending to put it down all the time (you know how it is with a sore back, cold day multiple layers on)
Edit I’ve never seen an aeg impact in action so can’t answer your actual question.

About 30 odd years ago.
Mitre ten had battery 3/8 ratchet Handles .
For the time back in the day they were bloody good.
