Sons work has 1, but I forget the brand. Go to wherever you are going to buy it from, throw a 5.4ah battery in it and walk around with it held up, like you were doing wheel nuts on a car on a hoist. You won't have to do any gym work on your arms. The skin is heavy to start with, then you add the big battery.I'll call and see what brand they have. They also have the retractable overhead air lines.

I have used milwaukee for about 8 years, brilliant stuff. just had a drill that stuffed the gearcase in 2.5 years. they replaced the wrecked bits under a 3yr warranty. The 1/2in drive impact gun is M18CI-IWF12 its been an amazing tool.It will rattle off most crank pulley bolts, where the previous Ingersoll Rand air rattle gun struggled.Only problem with buying one,is you start seeing all the other gear they have. maybe look at a kit price. it looks expensive, but the kits are good value.

The battery angle grinder is brilliant for little jobs, but the 230v grinder has more power for grunt.

skiff1, Sep 9, 6:06pm
I have just bought one. Haven’t really used it a lot yet, so I can’t tell you about durability. However, it seems to have the grunt claimed. I have an impact driver, a drill, an angle grinder and a few other bits and pieces and like them all. When I first got some gear I had 3Ah batteries, which crapped themselves quite quickly. I have replaced them with 6 Ah batteries which seem to be a lot more durable.

The only disappointing tool I’ve got so far, is the cordless angle grinder. I didn’t get the brushless version, and it eats the batteries pretty fast.

There’s a guy on YouTube called AvE, Who does teardown videos on power tools he has some quite interesting stuff.

The skin is removable.

intrade, Sep 9, 8:32pm
skiff1 so you got that one?
Also update i went to mitre10 again to take a closer look at stanley fatmax its a clearance deal 169$ only 1 battery and it states on stanley fatmax that its black&decker company . also the angle grinder only does 9000rpm i think if i recall that is insufficient to do propper work as i recall angle grinders with 240 run at 20,000 RPM. So yea a good price but still to expensive to pay 169$ for some toy-tools.

some tool history if you want to share yours. i had a 7.6 volt clone of the makita with a long battery in handle. nicad batterys as lithium ion was only when cellphones took off closer to year 2000. in 1993 or so i got for 169$ a ryobi from briscoes up to 30- 60% off lol yes they done that since ever i remember. it had a 7.6 or something battery and a torch was ok. i have binned it 3 years ago when i started really cleaning up you could not get batterys And i moved to the 12 volt makita when a guy moved back to england. i then got me a whole new kit of the same 12 volt makita 4 years ago or so from placemakers for like 129$ on special with 1 battery so i have now 2 nicad 12 volt . 1 is always on charge to be used the other usually flat cause thats whyt nicads do. But i keep loocking to what to move to next. or buy more batterys but i would like a impact rattle gun the only reason i would want one is to bust open harmonic balancer bolts and there you really need ultra extreem punch i had some that would not come off with air unless i heated it and cranked the compressor to 13 bar .

budgel, Sep 9, 9:12pm
I had one of the old NiCad Makitas. When the battery died I made up a lead so I could use it as a corded drill anywhere there was a 12V battery.
I wonder if technology will get the price of cordless tool batteries down to a decent level one day.

intrade, Sep 9, 9:40pm
28 the problem is not just the battery but the charge circuit of it. its really important to monitor each cell and do what is called cell balance. Unless supercaps become more powerfull in storing more energy then that be the way and it looks like hilti is the only one who does propper cell balance.
as where a nicad it did not matter if they got flat a good nicad last 15 years + its why i still have 2 nicads and 12 volt makita . and yes i was thinking of putting a lead on ryobi but i think the rachet mechnism also had problems you know the settings to tighten screws its just plastic and some balls and stuff. And we know what most plastics do with age. Not all plastics i have a white bathtop insert white plastic from 1980 you would thing i only just got it 3 month ago when you dont know how old it is.

I have ryobi 5 amp hour battery trade use charge once every couple weeks. Batt technology is pretty good these days

I dropped into mega Mitre 10 today & found they don't stock the Milwaukee brand there.

I think the 'Tool shed' might, or

We have both Milwaukee and AEG at work, one 1/2 drive and one 3/4 but both excellent tools.

paul861, Sep 10, 7:56am
i stick 7" cutting discs on my milwalkie 5" grinder, its got more grunt than my 7" hitachi. it also runs a 5" cup brush better

paul861, Sep 10, 8:10am
discs are designed to have a optimum cutting edge speed ,so smaller diameter discs need higher rpm

skiff1, Sep 10, 5:52pm
yep, I like it. Heavy, but needs to be. I have onl6 had it a week so, no idea about durability

bigfatmat1, Sep 10, 10:32pm
Took a chance and bought the kit and the impact is very heavy ill have strong as forearm in no time

marte, Sep 11, 4:38am
Oh God. Another idiot.
There's centrifugal forces involved. The disc is intended to be run up to a certain rpm. Don't use a 7 inch disc in a 5 inch grinder, it rpm is far too high.
The centrifugal force is too high & the disc can break apart, once that happens it's out of balance & centrifical forces take over & everything turns to crap, if escaping grinder disc bits haven't already caused enough problems.

Yes it's ok to use a bigger disc ( say 7inch or 9inch ) that's been used & is now 5 inch dia, in a 5 inch grinder.
The fact that the only way a 7 much disc could fit into a 5 inch grinder is that the guards been taken off should be a good indication that it's a f-----n stupid thing to do, both 7 inch disc in a 5 inch grinder, & without a guard.

Almost as stupid, if not on par, with putting a 9 inch flat cutoff disc onto a depressed flange & using the small dia nut to hold it in place.

intrade, Sep 11, 5:47pm
37 but if its only doing 9000rpm it would be fine as them battery ones usually no where reach the speed of a mains power one.

intrade, Sep 11, 6:19pm
just found this to read thru
https://www.aegpowertools.co.nz/products/details/18v-fusion-6-mode-high-torque-impact-wrench-skin-bss18htf12b6-0
it be close to a grand for the tool and 2 battery. Seems only bunnings has AEG

budgel, Sep 11, 8:39pm
It's good to see a good battery warranty when you are only buying the skin! ;-)

paul861, Sep 12, 7:27pm
calm the farm bro ,grinder is 8500rpm, 7" masonary disc rated at 8500.

marte, Sep 12, 9:19pm
Sweet as, grinders are scarey.
I dropped over to a mates place once,, they are using a 7 inch cutoff disc in a 4 1/2 inch grinder to cut up a car. Specifically the sway bar under the engine.
I told then all about it.
A couple of days later, somewhere else in NZ, a guy dies doing exactly the same thing, cutting thru the the sway bar, engine compartment,, job grabs, disc breaks, jumps & sends the 3/4 section of disc into his stomach.
He took something like 10 seconds to die.

intrade, Sep 15, 9:15pm
is that AEG just a rebadged milwalkee. i think i did see some hint at it somwhere.

intrade, Sep 30, 12:57am
ok hi i dont really have a facef. k account lol. but yea interesting i did hear about .
As far as i know amazone said they are not exactly exited to collect gst for a forgein government like the retards down at the south pole. So i dont know if they will come here.
