hi my hubby has an anglia he has been doing up slowly but it costs so much, i got a bill the other day from a machine shop for the head off the motor, that he said was broken, they had to put bigger valves in, new springs and also grind ports? the car seems to run ruffer than before but he says its fine,Ive given up driving it anymore, its noisy and fast and easy to stall, I think he has ruined it and wasted money, what do u think?

Its all good,, the head was definitely broken. now he just needs to drive it a LOT of miles and it'll run a smooth as.

this sounds so familiar. anglebox as a project car is cool. tho not sure i would bother hotting up the engine when you can fit anything modern and it will go a lot nicer and faster. tho some people like the retro hotrod engine setup. there is also something said for restoring it to factory. but who wants to be driving an anglia as a daily driver?
lets just say family member got divorced cause hubby kept spending all the money on cars.

I think you should spend all the money in the account on a new car for yourself before he takes it to the shop again and another bill comes in. He might be able to have your old car if the Anglia needs more work.

It's running rougher because it needs more mods done to it, needs twin carb setup and bigger exhaust, then it will be really smooth
