a diesel rav4 will do 5.5 if you drive it right, (without driving like a nana)

that is incredible economy, Inv to dun is more like 225 when you include the transit at each end and $20 is around 9 litres so this car is obviously super economical!
Makes a mockery of the sentra that only gets 6L/100km!

I had a toyota cressida once that took a 4L pack of oil to get from invercargill to dunedin. oil was cheaper then though :)

ours never got below 7.1 over 40000 ks. had a VB comodore that used 18 litre of 30-40 to get from rotorua to wellington, truck going the other way on the desert rd blew the bonnet right off. good times

Sad that the diesel rav4 and corolla ended up being a bit of an orphan. I had the privelige of driving the 2.0l diesel corolla from queenstown to invercargill and was very impressed with performance and economy

My 318i auto BMW E30 gets 80-100ks to work and back on $20 which is approx 9.5L.

I don't usually trust figures that use $/Km. L/Km is the only true gauge and I usually find that the $ crowd are just as this guys says. estimators.
