ok one of our cars has failed it WOF due to rust in the door on the hinges. We have taken it to Dr. Rust and was quoted $600! Ouchies! does anyone know of a cheaper place or something we could do ourselves! TIA

is the rust on the door or on the pillar that the door attaches to big difference to repair price, + what type of car is it.

If it's in the door, just take it off and go back and get your WOF. Yes with no door, the VIRM is wide open for interpretation lol.

That price could be cheap or expensive, if it is rust on the hinge yes, but my guess the rust is in door itself or there is rust in the pillar. All need cutting out, metal replacing to certifying standard plus repainting. If in door it may be cheaper to replace the door, but without all the information and a viewing too hard to speculate. Get some other quotes from panelbeaters.
