I don't think so you will have to pay someone to do it for you

You could hire the gear and spray it outside if the neighbours would cope or with a big enough section. Go for an HVLP gun with less overspray / waste.

True, I was quite impressed by that guy who painted his Commodore. Was it You Tube!
The way aucklanders make their weather out to be it should be just like a bake oven outside, in the shade, on an overcast day.

re trogedon's remark about the roller rustoleum technique -- I went through all the google stuff on this and it looked quite good.Has anybody tried it in NZ (I have a little racecar saloon that will need some cosmetics after I have finished the mechanical etc tweaks and it will need some tidying to look respectable after that)Don't want to spend money on cosmetics as having it go well is the main objective with a pre-65 race-car, but the budget is limited and I don't want it to look like a dog.

There is nothing wrong with spraying enamel for a cheap and cheerful paintjob. I used to do them ??

Probably not. May go with those 2 black bonnet paint inserts

Out of curiosity, how much would it cost to re-paint a whole car, like an Falcon wagon! Would it make any difference what kind of paint! e.g. solid vs metallic!

Proper job at an actual car painters, $4k+, excluding repairs that might need doing
