Yep Im gunna hate subwoofers in cars regardless. Cars are acoustically horrible and why would you want to have a speaker in the boot for it to vibrate everything inbetween it and your ears. Much better off going with high quality cabin speakers unless you are after the doof doof factor.

Overkill thats for sure, the only thing I like about subs is to give it a more natural feel. Not for the doof.

"If you wanted more DB, then you would need to make the volume bigger by cutting some out". Wouldn't touch it for that reason alone. Guy obviously has NO idea about speaker cabinet design, and if you wanted more DB, you'd head down to the local wholesalers! As for subs in cars, I have never been to one rock concert, or heard any music played live that has ridiculous farting noises or thump thump thump in it.

Actually,,, a (small sensible) sub in a car is the correct thing to use for counteracting the road noise generated by a vehicle. You can't do that effectively with "cabin speakers".

Looks like the first prototype washing machine.

Correct its about finding the balance between annoying racket / doof to giving the music a more natural feel.
Forget about it if you've got a car, you'd need a Hiab.

Good enough "cabin speakers" will make a sub like that unnecessary though.

I agree (up to point). Quality sound and cars do not go together! Having said that, I use a 500w subwoofer in my car with an old Pioneer amp and it sounds "good enough". The speaker advertised above is a piece of sh*t. It will sound awful!
