its their call as to whether they choose to fix it or not, depending on its location and how old the chip is, ie has it been subject to long term water or dirt contamination.Many chips in the CVA (basically the area immediately in front of the driver) they are reluctant to touch unless they're confident of a repair thats almost invisible.You will have to get them to look at it, nobody on a MB can give a yes or no answer to that one.

Well yea we can. They can fix a chip as stated above. Any variables have not been mentioned so there for can not be comented on. As you say age may make a difference but that info isnt available. Like all message board info theres always variables that we never no about which can change the advice dramaticly. You can even go buy your own kit and do it yourself these days.

its not the chip that bothers me, its the little fractures around the edges.
the chip is probably a week old, I just noticed it though.
there is a tinted strip along the top of the windscreen, the chip is just below this on the drivers side, it doesn't get in the way at all while driving.

You would be surprised how long a crack can be done these days. The liquid is forced through the chip and out the cracks. They sometimes drill a small hole at the end of the cracks to stop it traveling and as a stopping point. Are you insured! should be free if you are.

Ring your insurance company, most have no excess at all on glass cover.
