Now your just talking silly

It would have been too easy to keep this topic as per intended by O/P, personally I am still none the wiser as to the original question. Oh well.

I will make it simple for you.If you go buy a 6 or 8 grand harley in good nick and ride it for a year and look after it theres no reason why you couldnt sell it for what you paid for it as it already taken the big depreciation hit years ago.If all the accountants want brand new Harleys its gunna make olderbikes a better buy.

desmodave, Jan 10, 6:22am
Do you plan to buy a Harley !

I like this from the comment section:
Look dude, you're not going to change anyone's mind about what they ride. It's a choice. The fact that you DO ride is enough for me. If you're riding, we already have common ground.I have friends that I ride with on BMW's, Honda's, Harleys, Kawasakis, Suzukis. Who cares!

i-n-horz, Jan 10, 6:51am
Agree 100%

I do over 30,000k a year on mine, bet there isn't many so called other Harley haters on here that will do that many k's.also in all the k's i do a year i would get passed more than half a dozen times a year [ that includes Takaka hill ] where are all these fantastic bike riders.lol.
IN SAYING THAT there is some very strange Harley riders, they put me off for a while and i went to a Moto Guzzi V11 sport but missed the Harley, they are just bloody good for doing the long fast miles,,[ yes fast miles ] on my 7 th Harley and never loose much money and sometimes even have come out on top

richard198, Jan 10, 7:04am
What do mean Dave! Hold on to the Duke forever!
I'm 52, and the 750ss is great fun but a 200Km ride leaves me feeling quite sore these days.

i-n-horz, Jan 10, 7:38am
God damn! just google mapped it.looks like mountain goat territory, your an evil man offrd1 ;)

offrd1, Jan 10, 7:53am
LOL.its actually not to bad a road,we used to go that way to the Brass Monkey and watch all these fantastic non Harley riders fall off.lol.

i-n-horz, Jan 10, 8:51am
I must admit offrd1 riding a sports bike on gravel is friggin tricky almost lost it a few times myself on a Haast to Wanaka stretch moons ago that use to be gravel or more like large rocked.lol.not leaning forward as with the HD's you get the feeling of wanting to hook that arse-end out with the all to common smack on the lid from the cook.lol.
Even though evil you did help those riders to their feet.didn't ya! ;)

offrd1, Jan 10, 1:33pm
LOL.Yes we did on more than one occasion on one trip.It was snowing when we went overand there was over a dozen bikes and riders we had to help,i had a mate with me who was on a old Tiger 100 he was having a ball.lol.
Went over that pass once on a old bevel gear S2 Ducati that was interesting
I'm like you i just lover motor cycles and really don't care what people ride,i will talk to anyone.BUT i will stick up for the old HD as they really are a great bike for doing the miles

trogedon, Jan 10, 1:46pm
It??

i-n-horz, Jan 10, 1:58pm
Like they say.'you don't know until try' and I'm pick'n most in here haven't spent a lot of time in the saddle of an HD.I do know of 1 person from the many that had owned an HD and would never go back to 1 and actually despise them but he was a very temperamental fellow but also in the last 23+years I have yet to have someone state that owning an HD is a mistake and to tell me what they think of them in person.plenty behind the screen though.lol.funny that.
I didn't think you were that evil offrd1 ;)

i-n-horz, Jan 10, 2:02pm
Whoa! I like that.doubt that I'd have the correct mindset to control it though.lol.

stabi360, Jan 10, 4:20pm
looks more of a roadster to me with those wheels and twin disc
offrd1 we went around the road from the highway to nelson by quinnys bush (pub on corner to backof mot)last week what a great road3 harleys all within 2 bike lenghts at 104 kph of course nicewee bit of twistie there i think i will go to nelson that way all the time now

sabbath-black, Jan 10, 4:30pm
.what are you smoking! OBVIOUSLY a big cruiser is not going to handle as well as some other bikes, i never said they did.i said they handle ok, and they do.why the need to knock other makes of bikes that you have no knowledge about whatsoever.could go on about you owning probably the slowest big sports bike money can buy.

trogedon, Jan 10, 4:41pm
One of my best friends has a Harley. He dislikes most of it apart from the look.

richard198, Jan 10, 4:50pm
Even one of the guys in Haldane's conceded that it doesn't handle the corners that well. Quickest accelerating bike at the moment!

desmodave, Jan 10, 5:44pm
So you have more than 1 best friend then. How do your best friends feel about that .Is there a best best friend or are they all just good cants that ya love to bits.

offrd1, Jan 10, 6:56pm
