I have always had grunty cars, Holdens/Subarus etc. I'm a bit of a girl racer. However I'm thinking of retiring my old semi-reliable grunty car for something tiny/cute/economical, but still zippy and cool.I want something reasonably priced, to about $10,000.not to sure what to look at. and can I handle going from a big "real" car, to a "shopping basket" car. eeek!Any ideas on what would be a good option for me!

How about a Holden or a Subaru - They;re cute, ideal for shopping, mostly driven by women and not especially fast.

Early supercharged Cooper S!Not sure about the pricing, but a 2002/3 car might be within your price range.

Or 330 coupe. At least other people won't think you're dumb cause you're driving a Holden or Subaru!

Go have a look at a 1998 Mazda mx5 rs model. They are 1800 with a 6 speed box. Loads of racy fun.

re mx5^^ i would personally get one of the older classic (lighter!) 1600 manual ones with a wooden steering wheel - they are cheap (like 5 grand) preferably in brg with tan interior :-)
-but i am old school
also, i think the hardtops are reasonably secure against getting broken into!

There's nothing "old school" about MX5s!

Type R Integra pops into mind - more of them around, more real-world grunt on tap, and slightly less extreme revving required to get up & boogie!
