Well that is MY world veiw.What I would like to know is, whatoptions arew therefor getting a spare key cut.I have one working key at the mo and would prefer the new key had remote lock unlock functions.Can you get radio keys from Mister Mint or do I have to stump for one at the dealership!

i am guessing it be coded Gm are obd2 since 1996 so coding a key could likely be similar to vw via obd . cutting a key will unlock the car but not start is my guess further research is required

It looks like a 'normal' car key plus two buttons on the base of it.

get a key cut and see if it starts the remote can be purchased on ebay for sure and if it starts with a blank cut key it wont have a rfid chip just the remote function

Ok thanks for that,my understanding is that a $60 dollar ish key (that has been programed) will open and start the car.Will try and find on ebay to compare costs.I beleive a new key is around $400 from holden.
