I can only suggest you try the type r seats and see if they are any lower. Any modification to a seat mount and technically you will need a cert, so could void your insurance. A dc2 type r seat complete with rails will bolt in and not need a cert.
EDIT: Might pay to check that DB8 and DC2 have the same mount!
