Hi I have a 1999 Nissan Bluebird U14,Sometimes the engine light will come on and the trans will only stay in 2nd gear the hole time. When I turn the car off and turn it back on the car is fine no troubles. I have tried disconnecting the battery and re start the engine to reset it but no difference. Have been told from a mechanic that it is just a sensor could this be right! Also how much roughly would it cost to fix! Thanks

buy a diagnostic cable from (blazt.biz) if you wish to diagnose and fixyour own car. it comes with free software just got to see if your car is nissan-consult or obd2 already.otherwise you need to get the code checked at a garage costing 140$ for a scan almost what the software and cable costs.

as for resetting you dont reset nothing by disconnecting the batteryyou need to clear the trouble code with cable. i know i done a sentra with the consult cable error was cam-angle sensore cleard it and was ok again car is fine ever since lol
