When bathurst was a real race

oh yep. with 1960's pushrod layout right! against 2006 technology.

foxdonut, Jun 20, 7:57pm
At the last GT3 race around Bathurst the Audis, with 300 kilo's more weight and 150 less horsepower were pacing 2 seconds off the current V8SC. There was a pissy little 911 set a faster lap time than both of them at one point too.

European race cars > Japan, Australia, America

roys351, Jun 20, 7:57pm
the xa falcon was the first all ussie fully designed falcon (yes the v8 mtrs were still of american design ) but why fix something thats not broken

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:00pm
Nice! thats why they have their own race. I dont know why they wanna push their way into the only day when Holden and Ford have their own race at Bathurst

foxdonut, Jun 20, 8:00pm
Yeah they had - 10 percent, taking the car up around the 440hp figure (as per the category they race it in)

If you want a proper comparison, that years LMGT car was the 575, not the 360.

wrong2, Jun 20, 8:00pm
DOHC is from the 1920s

wrong2, Jun 20, 8:00pm
FFS , do you even know the rules regarding the classes in that race !

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:02pm
FFS i got them off the back of weetbix packet. is that alright!

wrong2, Jun 20, 8:04pm
so your awear of why bringing up that win isnt a comparison & retarded

wrong2, Jun 20, 8:05pm
a proper comparison would have been a production LS1 Monaro stripped according to the rules

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:06pm
so youre aware that Holden won the race and European crap was beaten!

wrong2, Jun 20, 8:09pm
what would entering a V8 supercar against GT1 cars achieve

the same kind of result for GT1 that you think proves something for the non-legal holden in 06

roys351, Jun 20, 8:09pm
wots advance&retard got to do with it !

foxdonut, Jun 20, 8:11pm
"Holden" didn't win the race. The chassis and diff was Ford, the transmission was domestic third party, the engine was corvette and the 2 bodies were made by some guy living in Tamworth.

But if Holden needs twice as much kit as everyone else and an a superior driver to finish a race I guess they did right!

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:14pm
Holden Manaro won that race. suck it up chaps. Stop living in denial. everyone think you're dellusional

foxdonut, Jun 20, 8:17pm
The only denial here is that someone thinks a Holden A: Raced in Bathurst 24 and B: That Holdens are faster cars than Lamborghini's and Ferrari's.

Whatever bro "Holden" won. Sure they did. Just like when the GTR raped the Holdens at Bathurst and the australians banned them etc etc.

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:18pm
anyone else dellusional!
and dont tell me wikipedia is a fraud and not true:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathurst_24_Hour

sfw4, Jun 20, 8:20pm
GTR won yes. but non australian cars now have their own race day. just not on Holden& Fords day. Crowds just dont attend that much like they would the main day

foxdonut, Jun 20, 8:22pm
Oh wow, I'd totally forgotten - those were N-GT cars.

Lulz.

Yeah. I rescind my statement earlier - Holden needed 3 times the car to win, not 2.

hyphen, Jun 20, 9:19pm
wow! and I supose you all drive the way you post on the MB, irritable, negative , unfriendly w@nkers, I bet the lot of ya are, aye!

bill-robinson, Jun 21, 5:43am
which bit is "bullet proof"

smac, Jun 21, 6:22am
You guys are hilarious. Lets all piss on about how some guy I never met built some stuff better than some guy you never met. No wait MY guy is better. No MINE is.

Good stuff, keep it up.

esprit, Jun 21, 8:41am
Just one thing. the Group C times were when Conrod Straight ran straight all the way down to Murrays Corner. the GTR set a time with the Chase included, which adds about 8 seconds to the laptime.

Invalid comparison.

thunderbolt, Jun 21, 9:15am
Scotty, your ignorance is showing again.
A timing belt will not snap at any point and time, they last for as long as they are designed to, in some cases now, 150k and 200K replacement intervals.

How much does it cost to replace the stretched timing chain on a VE V6 every 100k to stop them surging!

Inbred redneck.
