Is quite sad the Ford Falcon can't even crack the top 10 in Australia. Hope it picks up for the local car industry.

Hmm it does make yo wonder what Ford are doing wrong in Australia, those results are terrible for them, yet they still managed to be #4 overall. There is some serious misreading of the market going on there.Anyone else notice what the overall difference in the trans Tasman figures is, sheesh they are buying 10 times the amount of new cars with 5 times the population. It's clear that Kiwis like Suzuki Swifts more than anything else on the market yet in Oz they aren't even in the top 20.

Terrible results for Falcon in Oz; no wagon, no V8 option, no LPG option, Mondeo has more techno bells and whistles for the same amount of coin and same interior space using less gas, especially the diesel. The amount of private buyers that walk into a Ford dealer with the intention of buying a coon and walking out with a Mondeo must be huge.
Ford have let details slip of an injected LPG, turbo 4 cylinder, 5.0 300kw NA XR8 in FG2 Falcon over the past year but have failed to deliver. Injected LPG and ecoboost 4cylinder is supposed to be here now.
Meanwhile 40% of Holden (not HSV) sales in OZ are V8s.
Suprising the Territory got #8 in NZ maybe run out models.
Good to see VW Golf in Aussie top 10 results, deserves to be #1.

guess our jap import market would take a good number of buyers out of otherwise buying new , i'm surprised where nissan has reached as when i was over brisbane in 00 i watched traffic for an hour from the hotel balcony and honestly saw more vw combi vans than nissans !

The Falcon is dead and everyone knows it (whether they'd like to admit it or not)

The Commodore on the other hand is on a relatively fresh platform

The Falcon is dead due to bad management, not due to it being a bad product. They fired all there marketing a while back, have a revolving door for top management where they basically walk through the front door and keep on goingout the back door.
