If is just a top up, then yes the coolant goes into the reservoir. Make sure the right type and ratio is used. If its needing to be topped up frequently then other things may need to be looked at. It may not need topped up at all, as the cooling system is pressurised the coolant level in the reservoir can rise and fall.
