I sent one on a trailer from Wellington to Brisbane (in a 20foot container) in October and in the end it cost AUD$6,800 once all the taxes and agents charges were paid. I think the freight was $2,700. and I also think the agent was a rip-off

If you are talking about the GST on the value of the car when it gets there,there is a form to fill out if you meet the ownership criterior to get exemption from GST.

Have spoke to a broker quote is $4k plus around $4k gst , then rego costs , looking at $10k all up . Not sure if its worth it
