How best to remove surface scratches on my car?

Someone said to use a little either Brasso or Silvo.I can't remember which one though.My car is black.Thanks in advance.

I can almost see why someone would say that to you but they need shot lol.
As a rule if you can catch your fingernail in the scratch you will be lucky to buff it out. What you need is a quaility cutting compound and follow instructions then a good finishing polish. I also advise people to take it to your local paint shop and if its not to serious they should run the buffer over it for bugger all. If your really keen you can wet rub it with 2000 sandpaper and then cut and polish.

I just know ya being funny but Ive seen people actually use (well confess to using) Jiff on there car. It really really F%$#s it.They come in and say, " Ive got all these circular scratches on my bonnet after I tried to removehouse paint spots and now it looks funny and they wont go away."$400plus later to respray bonnet they dont do it again.
