Are fog lamps necessary in a car?

cxc_mama, May 6, 6:42am
My car just failed its warrant and one of the reasons was the front fog lamps need to be repaired. I was talking to someone who said not all cars have them so they can't fail a car for this reason. Can anyone help! Thanks

they can fail you for them not working if they are on your car but dont work. Take them off the car, then you will pass warrent.

If they are on the car they have to work as far as I know., just remove them problem solved.

On the car and they have to work or be permanently disabled was what I have been told twice by warrant places.

If one works, they both have to, if neither work then thats disabled and they are not an operating light but are just decorative.

The rules are pretty dumb at times but even though its an optional extra they need to be fixed or removed even if you don't intend on using them.

esp given that you dont even need reverse to pass wof.
