Happens everyday, take it. I know someone that got a genuine Bathurst monaro for 2 hundy. Matching numbers and all, old guy was happy to see it go. Just if it's your neighbour don't let him find out it's worth something and have him get shitty at you ;)

for a de-reg car I would say $500 would be right. it may have a bit of rust which would hinder getting it back on the road. and if that 2.0L isn't the original engine (which I too doubt they had the 2.0 factory fitted that early) then you'll be up for a cert too.

Mk1 did have a 2litre, the RS2000, but they were not made in 1969, they were built late in the model life and not sold here.
