Hi A friend bought a second hand car from the dealer and on the ad it said all cars checked and serviced but it turns out it hadnt been serviced since 09. Can she take it to another dealer in the same chain and get it serviced retrospectivly! Is there a clause in the consumer guarentees act that covers this!

How does she really know!

If she's looking at the receipts andpaperwork in the glove box, I'm thinking that the dealer had changed the engine oil and filter (or other filters) themselves. However if the oil is looking suspiciously dirty, best tactic would be to go back to the selling dealer and ask nicely about it.It's not like the material costs are that expensive, I don't see why a good enough dealer shouldn't be able to remedy the situation.

Just ring them. I suspect they've just not written in the book.

a trained monkey would have done the servicing and most likely could not write anyway !
