GTR SKYLINE vs RS COSWORTH

Can anybody tell me why is it that the GTR skyline is so much cheaper to buy than an RS cosworth ! Which one is better !

Cosworth is more collectable.

the cosworth was better in its day than the gtr!

cosworth has history in tarmac and rally finding a low km prestine cond. example is the challenge

gtr is definatly the better of the two in my OP

It does depend on exact what model you are looking at too - a four door RS Cosworth isn't nearly as collectable as the original 3 door

there is more skylines than sierra's supply and demand. those who could not afford a sierra cosworth 20 years ago now can, and some will pay over the top prices to get what they want, that pushes the price of them all up.just look at the price of a lotus cortina or bda escort to see future sierra cosworth prices. the young street drifter hoon in a lowered un certified matt black skyline does not help push the price or desirability of them up. but give it time skylines will start going up in price for good ones as the matt black ones make there way to the wreckers. besides sierra cosworths are fords and some of us cant see past that.

sierra's use 20+ year old technology they had bad turbo lag (compared to today). they both can make a lot of power the cosworth may surprise many with its potental. the skyline is certainly more user friendly. but i would rather have a rs500 sierra than any skyline. even peter brock raced them when the holdens could not cut it against them

Its not like either was a particularly rare car though
R32 Skyline GT-R - 43,934 units total (1989-1994)
Sierra RS Cosworth - 30,932 units total (1986-1992)

They made less R33 GT-Rs and less again of the R34 - I think the R34 will end up as the most collectable of the (modern) GT-Rs

Possibly the R34, but I think the more likely collectibles are the first 5,000 R32's in original gunmetal gray (the homologation set). They really were a paradigm changing car.Even better, one of the first 500.NZ is very lucky to have a good population of R32's.RS Cosworths are good collectables but the market is driven by UK enthusiasts & they are much rarer down under so probably overpriced for us.

R33's look like a flabby whale

on the other hand R34s have an outrageous stance with those massive guards on a small coupe (id own an R4 in a heartbeat)

we had Cosworth serrias on our TV for longer , that & they arent "jap crap" means you have the older, more cashed up generation wanting them compared to younger guys who love GTR's

on equal tyres theres no comparison - the R32 makes a good driver great

jsbike, Apr 17, 2:44am
where did you go for those numbers! I want to fint out how many of my car were made if poss

attitudedesignz, Apr 17, 5:31am
OP said RS Cosworth, not Sierra only so you'll need to include the Escorts.
